Overall great product, however, the remote did disconnect once in the 3 weeks of using it which raises concerns, luckily this happened at low speed. I have read that other users have experienced this. I would recommend for new skaters to ensure that they can stop comfortably without the remote. For the price I think a bash-guard should be included as the motors hit the ground when picking up the board from the front.

The board is great at least a solid hour of riding on a full battery before i have to head home. I would say I've clocked up over 80 miles on this thing now alot of that off road. I would recommend the board but I'm quite disappointed that the bash guard which has to be bought separately doesn't come as standard. If you are like myself and wish to fully off road its worrying that there is nothing protecting the motors. Ihave already smashed my front light to pieces which kind of shed a light on how vulnerable the motors are.

I took delivery of my third eboard, the Evolve GTR, I have had my eye on Evolve for a few years. I firstly liked the look of them, bamboo, cool tape, nice wheel sets, but avoided buying one simply because of the lack of a UK base with support for when something inevitably goes wrong. I have two other boards from a trusted British brand, with great support if you need it. I have in the past just ridden my boards for recreation, but during the current pandemic I am now officially an eboard commuter, an eboard commuter who lives at the top of a very large hill, and whichever way I go out it’s always a hill to come back and the GTR seemed like the best off the shelf option. Opening the box yesterday I was pleasantly surprised about just how together the guys at Evolve have got their act. The packaging is impressive, the graphics, the interlocking cardboard securing everything in place. The board is nicely presented, then underneath you get a multitude of treats, tools and charger carry case, remote and mini case, spare pack of nuts and bolts, which is a nice touch. Each item is of really high quality and nicely branded. I went for the 2 in 1 so I also had a box with a set of street wheels, belt guards, belts, ceramic bearings, and another set of nuts and bolts, all very cool. I put the board on charge, I took the very unmanly practice of reading the instructions, one small booklet for the remote, large booklet for the board, but the information in the remote booklet is just repeated in the large book. The remote instructions are more complicated than the remote itself, once I had the remote switched on the process of setting it up was more intuitive, so I change the bits to suit, MPH, no speed restrictions and so on. Being a kid of the 70’s the feel of the remote is just like racing a Scalextric, felt good and the power is at your fingertips, the plastic casing could maybe be improved and the lcd screen it hard to see in the sunshine, but the style of it suited me. The board. The components look and feel of a very high standard, and expected with the premium price tag. The deck felt slightly too concave from what I am used to but it soon made sense why. Double kingpins is the king, carve hard, then carve harder, then more if you dare. Bamboo has spring but no wallow, It does feel like riding a wave, super smooth transitions from edge to egde, don’t think, feel - Bruce lee. I was a bit wary about going for the big wheels as I haven’t tried AT before but they are rubber and rubber grips. Its powerful, strong acceleration, hill climbing is why I bought it and it does it in style, it not only climbs but you can actually accelerate up if the mood takes you and I haven’t even needed the GTR mode. The brakes are very well set up, nice progressive deceleration and great stoppers in an emergency. Once home I put my hand on the motors and heatsink and found very little heat which is a bonus. I definitely feel I have made a great choice and time will tell. I am 75kg so the riding experience may not be the same for everyone.
