“So I rode my friends gtx a year ago and loved it. I have been wanting one for myself since and have been saving up for a year. Decided to finally pull the trigger and I got one. It’s a lot of fun and I’ve picked it up quickly! Just wish I had some more places to ride off-road by my house.”
“The all terrain bamboo board is great.
I am new to skateboarding so I am very gently breaking myself into it. The board is very stable and easy to get used to.
The acceleration is huge even up steep hills and at my level there has always been more speed in reserve if I want it.
I have been taking the board through varied forest trails. Sometimes really rough rocky/gravely trails and sometimes bumpy root heavy trails, it amazes me how much the board copes with!
I live in the uk so i only go out with the board when we have had a few dry days in a row otherwise I get some wheelspin on the muddier areas. I am currently using the all terrain tire but i am going to purchase and fit the off road nobbly tire and see how that goes.
It's worth noting that I used up a full battery today and travelled 11 miles by the time it got close to 0% battery,
This is due to the very heavy terrain and steep slopes involved so to be expected.
Be very careful with the brakes as they will easily throw you off. I am still learning to compensate for this. I try to be very alert for people, bikes, children or animals as if you had to brake suddenly you will come off.
Personally I recommend full safety gear when using these boards. As a novice I use knee, elbow, wrist protection and a full face helmet. I don't want to be nursing injuries for weeks on end!
I've only fallen off once but i no doubt will again.
Also the board with standard battery is really heavy and unwieldy to carry!
Biggest negative is that they are not currently legal to publicly ride in the uk.
You can only ride on private land!
Seems really unfair as bikes are legal to ride.
Personally i think that if you pick quiet times and places, slow down or stop for pedestrians and other users then it's fine. Still illegal though.
I definitely wouldn't use it in traffic not unless you are very skilled. One mistake and you could easily end up under a car.
Overall, i love the board, just wish it was legal in the uk.
I will continue to seek out interesting trails. I have plenty of forests near me. I may try some beach paths one day or some mountain trails in snowdonia perhaps?”
“Brilliant board. Spent 45 mins on the phone to the shop to discuss all the boards.very helpful and knowledgeable chap. Item came fast and as described. My fiance has been out on it every dry day since he opened it.”
“Love my new board...Happy that if anything goes wrong their is help available in my area..which can't be said with boards brought from overseas dealers...!!”
“As a complete novice I found the research, reviews, YouTube channels all very helpful in making the decision to buy the Bamboo GTR. Look great, performs really well and in a controlled way so my learning can be safely done within my limits. Loving the whole scene as well.”
“The AT Bamboo GTR is an amazing machine. I love the new Bluetooth controller, and the board is smooth and powerful. I've even now pimped it out with Shredlights and the Evolve Prism lights!”
