“Wow What a pocket rocket alright this board has power i am impressed , you wont be disappointed it does exactly what it says it can do, never too old to ride thanks bro”
“I keep my Stoke in my trunk. It's my last mile vehicle from where I park every day to where I work (about 1/2 mile away). It gets me through the week on one charge, so the range works for me. Tight curves. Smooth ride and acceleration. Cool remote. I dig it.”
“Riding the new Stoke, its probably one of the most insane sk8boards I've ever had the privilege of riding. Having bought one I can enjoy riding it everyday and with everyday my stokedness just keeps on "stokeing"”
“Pros: Love the freedom of being able to lift the front of the board up and pop over those unsavoury sidewalk cracks.
The carve is nice and tight on this little shred stick with the ability to pull a quick lil U-bolt within a 1 meter diameter.
Cons: As an owner of the evolve gtr I was a little let down on the performance of the stoke. I understand the battery is considerably smaller (1/3 the gtr size) I knew this before pre ordering the stoke. But what I don't understand is why the stoke with exactly the same running gear as the gtr street conversion does not have the 44km/h top speed and considerably less than 3rd of the distance of the gtr (Approx 7-8km per full charge)
And i am yet to see how I go taking the battery on a flight (1 reason I also got the stoke)
In conclusion I do love the board for the short trips to the skate park n shops. I did expect alot more from evolve with that $1500 price tag and would like to know why the stoke does not perform a bit more towards it's worth.
Hope my review helps. And looking forward to the next model.”
Hey Johnny,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, we really appreciate your feedback!
You are correct in saying that the Stoke battery is 1/3rd of the size of the standard GTR battery, a third of the size, means a third of the range and we get an average of 15km before recharge (rider weight may affect this). The range you have given is 7 - 8km and doesn’t seem right to me. I recommend riding your board until it turns off completely; not to 0%, but until it completely dies. Then in one go, charge the board until the light turns green on the charger. To explain this further, it’s kind of like “turning it on and off again”, it resets the board and should rectify the issue you’re experiencing. If it doesn’t, please get in touch with our Tech Department so they can assess further.
As for the speed, with the 85mm street wheels, you should expect 36kph give or take. The size of the street wheel will determine the top speed you get. For example, if you were running the 97mm street wheels you’d reach 42kph, and the 107mm street wheels can reach up to 47kph. The Stoke is only compatible with the 85mm wheels as the deck will cause wheel bite with larger wheels. You can view further stats in our Wheel Guide:

You should be fine carrying the battery aboard an aircraft, we recommend getting in touch with the airline before travel. Please ensure you remove the battery from the board and take it in your carry on. If the airline requires the stats on the battery, it’s located on the battery itself. “Liked:
- reliability
- sensitivity
- carve ability
- kick tail
Disliked:
- weight, I would be happy with 60% of battery in exchange for 30-40% lighter
- battery connection point is flimsy
- more waterproofness so that i can ride in wet conditions”
“Originally a surfers term for being over the moon about something the Stoke lives up to its name. All the power and fun of a GTR in a cruiser size skate. The size & shape of the deck plus the kick tail coupled with the carve potential of the double king pin trucks make this a land surfers dream come true. Easy to pick up and carry going for a shop or coffee run has never been so much fun. Limited runs in the skatepark so far (due to weather) are hinting at its potential. Ll in all I'm stoked :)”
