“I've purchased a Bamboo GTX 2 years ago and I was astonished by it's power and design. Fast forward to 2020, We got hit by a deadly pandemic that allows nobody to get close to each other. So public transpiration went from being an everyday thing to becoming a challenge that could mean a game between life and death, literally. So, being in the sk8te scene for years, I've decided to commute in my Esk8t for the first time. It was around the same time Evolve reach it's 10 years of innovation and release the GTR series. Although I bit expensive, yet it's definitely worth every penny. The HUGE difference between GTX Bamboo VS GTR Carbon are massive. Choosing the GTR Carbon model for fast speed and maneuverability was the best decision I've ever made. It's so intuitive and has great control connectivity (via Bluetooth). Speed depends on what set up you choose your board to roll on. My personal preference, the all -terrains (AT): given its NYC horrendous streets conditions. My board does 22mph with the AT 6" but recently it's high speed went down to 20mph (which it is still a descent speed) due to a wheel set up: 6.1/2" Trampa Urban Threats, which feel like riding on clouds, and the look is slick, unlike the AT 8" wheels that will make your board look like a horse carriage (literally). Anyway, this board has made my commute exceedingly fun. I'm a high speed junkie so, I'm setting up my board with stronger motors and bigger batteries. But, all mods aside, this board is a most have. I guarantee it will change the way you ride/commute anywhere. Thank you Evolve for the tech support, which is beyond outstanding. I can't way to see what next innovation you guys will come up next. #evolveridernyc”
“I like the power of this thing and the range is insane, I'm around 96 to 98kgs and i don't have range anxiety at all on this!
The brakes are scary when going downhill so that's something I have to get use to.
A board + safety gear combo would've come in handy as I'm in the process now of sourcing some safety gear koz this board is crazy quick.
Cheers team”
“Been out and about on it for several hours now over several days.
Took me about an hour to get used to controller and to relax enough to get into the flow of it.
Key thing for me that made everything click for me, was to look way ahead to where I want to go in the distance and just let my body and the board take me there.
When starting out, I was looking down in front of the board too much at every possible bump, etc in my way. Made me tighten up and wasn't turning comfortably.
The board will happily go over most things, just rely on it and you'll be happy!
Very powerful, even up steep hills (I commute to Ponsonby). GTR mode is the one to get into straight away so you can get used to the power of the board. Skip the Eco/Pro modes ASAP, they just don't have the grunt.
Be very smooth on both the accelerator and break and you'll be fine.”
“Only bad thing I have to say is the app. Super cool idea being able to track your trips via GPS but the app itself is hard to log onto and seems glitchy. I have yet to be able to even use the app for it's intended purpose.”
