“Challenging but achievable. Braking makes all the difference.
Id say there is a niche for a much cheaper board that just has radio controlled braking.
Gobbles up hills with ease.
Wanted to use as a commuter vehicle but rain and puddles has stopped that today.
Why not offer a water proof upgrade, ceramic bearings and water proof case.
Fears about damaging such a big investment with water is a downer.”
“I received my GTR 2 days before knee surgery (unrelated) and was only able to take one short ride in the parking lot at work. Bought it for myself for Christmas. Had to wait 3 weeks for the next ride. Best 9 miles ever...until the next ride. I love this thing. The ride on the 7" pneumatic tires is unbelievably smooth and quiet.
I am 6'1", just below 220lbs so I do not expect to get near the max range. I get about 20 miles using 80% of the battery. I'm not out of shape, round is a shape, but I am not very aerodynamic either. If I can make it the 18 miles to Sebastian Inlet then that is all the range I need.
The GTR will not handle the thicker St Augustine grass here in Florida like my Mototec boards with their 10" knobby tires, but I got the GTR for pavement and there is nothing better.
Had to wait a year and a half to buy this because I had to lose 30lbs first, best diet incentive ever.
I recommend the hardest bushings if you are near my weight, after installing the 98's all wobble was gone. I did not like the Deadman switch so I was very happy when I found the defeat setting for this feature. The ability to limit the max speed was good to allow others to try it out an get used to it. The brake took some getting used to.
Overall it is a beautiful and robust design.
Buy it now.”
“GTR is in a class of it's own. Vehicle grade with unmatched range and the craziest thing is if you somehow did run out of battery (highly unlikely) you can push this around like a normal longboard with slight drag. Electric spaghetti is the best I can do to describe the ride.”
