“Phenomenal for a first/beginner wheel. I'm glad I purchased this as my introduction to PEVs as I would have quickly outgrown anything less powerful, even with what felt like a steep learning curve the first several hours on this device. Several months in and I'm still learning how hard I can push this thing. I contemplated heavily and every day I'm reassured this was overall the best wheel I could've purchased for a fun multi-purposed ride.
The wheel goes fast, handles all terrains, decent range, and charges quickly. Great app & software, looks great, and is built sturdily. The only real complaint I have is the flimsy trolley handle which will break the first chance it gets. I don't think I've seen a good trolley handle from Begode yet. Luckily, it seems that Begode is upgrading just about everything else on its newer wheels. The new Begode Blitz looks incredible, however I think I'd still prefer my Extreme over any other wheel. It packs an incredible punch in such a small profile.
Also, I would purchase from eWheels again, as they made the process very pleasant and are extremely helpful with any support you might need along the way. These wheels are big purchases for most, so it goes a long way having a good company to assist with questions, parts, etc.
If you're unsure what to get, get an Extreme!”
“It's a tank, tumble it down a hill with no damages at all, sounded like a solid piece boulder thumping down the hill lol. Plush suspension and smooth power delivery. Just the seat and pads are slippery/oily from the manufacturer release agents, but I just wash them with soap and water and it's all good.”
“I have a little over a week now with the new Begode Extreme and I'm loving it. Jason and Nick were as usual very helpful in leading me to decide to get the Extreme. My year old KS 16X has almost 3K miles in it and I love it. I got the hybrid tire because my use case is more of touring around parks, neighboring communities, and light mountain bike trails. I just need an EUC with nice suspension that can do light trails and more of street. It should also be nimble enough for parks and crowded paved trails. The 16 inch wheel is perfect for my needs. The DS200 shock with 900lbs spring is excellent for a 165 lb rider. I am now able to go to places where the KS 16X has difficulties and am more relax due to a little bit bigger diameter tire, shock, and the gyro effect. Riding seated is excellent, the transition from standing to sitting is a lot easier due to the handle, height, and gyro. I like the weight for long distance, it feels like riding on a motorcycle in terms of stability and comfort. I highly recommend the wheel and of course eWheels!”
“This wheel is a tank, c40 motor is full of all the torque and speed you’ll ever need out of a 16” EUC, and the build quality is top notch for begode. Love the speaker too”
“Great price for a great wheel. Have ridden many wheels over the years, the Extreme is super smooth even with the air shock. I am 160lbs and have no bottoming out issues at all.
Power delivery is smooth, but if you really want the most of it, you’ll need your own pads.
There is tough competition in this bracket, but you can’t go wrong with the Extreme.”
“Background
-----------------
I purchased the Begode Extreme (1920WH/40T/Spring Suspension/) back in December - I ride every chance I get, almost every day but wanted to get some solid time on the wheel before writing a review. I began riding a year ago on an InMotion V5F then progressed to a V8S, V11, and V12HT, and have kept all of them.
Riding Style
----------------
I'm an intentional casual rider (Max 40 MPH, necessary jumps/hops, and Max 50 mile distance) and was looking for a reliable EUC that
I could evolve my riding on and off road with enough headroom that it was not going to "drop me", when it was not rider error.
Wheel Fit
---------------
With three months on the wheel, I find it an excellent fit for a casual style of riding, meaning, it was designed for an aggressive off-road style therefore providing the "headroom" and build quality that I was looking for - factors every rider should consider. In addition, the wheel is nimble, well balanced and not too heavy from a riding perspective. My only regret is not purchasing the 2400WH configuration.
Technical Support
--------------------------
I want to also mention that e-Wheel has awesome Support, another factor to consider when purchasing a wheel. Even though I purchased the V12 from a different seller, they helped me troubleshoot and fix a malfunctioned controller card on my V12. We need this level of support within the community.”
Hi Phil, what a great summary. The 40T cells, while lower in capacity compared to the 50E model, will greatly contribute to safety headroom, for example if hitting a large bump or pothole at speed. Community support from riders like yourself is what allows us to keep going, so we're more than happy to give back wherever possible!
