“Absolutely necessary if this is your first wheel. The only regret I have is not buying it as the same time as the wheel and trying to learn how to ride without because there's permanent scratches on the wheel body now. Doesn't protect the handle or pedals though, but that can be remedied with some extra cheap child proofing foam or something if you want, I think it's great as-is.”
“Solid cover. Another winner - fits like a glove. It went on easily - I took a few spills with it. I'm sure if I wipe out at 40 Mph, then that'll leave a mark - but for my "baby steps" falling over at 15 Mph, leaves no marks on the cover at all. It also lets me "hug" the wheel with my calves; and lets me torque the wheel with a little more feeling than I would get with just the wheel's upper pads alone. I wish they would make one for the Gotway MCM5.”
“It seems expensive but it works! We have dumped our wheel countless times and it’s held up. Your wheel might get a little wear and scratches with it on but the cover really helps minimize scraping damage. Our 14s would be a mess without it.”
“Cover is good. Highly recommended for new riders and experienced alike. Not only does it protect the wheel from scratches but protects the rider... your ankle bones will thank you!”
