“Let's set expectations. This is not a snappy or sporty wheel. Given that though, this is everything you would want an endgame cruiser wheel to be.
Huge range, incredibly stable, extremely fast top speed (50+ mph for the high speed beeps on a full charge, freespin is 66mph). The cornering experience is undoubtedly unique. At speed, throw all your weight to the inside of the corner once to set your line. The wheel falls into the turn slowly, smoothly, gradually, and predictably. Then the wheel holds it there for you as if it has memory.
It's so heavy that it's a legit workout. 2 weeks in and I feel like it's been leg day, every day. But now that I'm more conditioned to the wheel, I realize it's not as sluggish as many people gather from their first impressions. It boils down more to the rider being able to push it around. It goes up inclines just fine, even my favorite mountainous route (mt diablo) doesn't exceed 15 degrees at any point, most paved roads don't. So far no issues with lack of power or overheating. It's still not the fastest off the line, but it's no slouch. You just have to work for it.
The Monster Pro has made me a faster rider because I can confidently enter corners without dropping my speed. Yes, there are better wheels for the city out there. That said for me, nothing beats the experience of this wheel on the open road to date. And I've tried nearly all of em.”
“This is my second wheel, my first is a Kingsong 16x. This is a very different beast. I really love this wheel! I did a full range test at a variety of speeds, and was able to get 80 miles out of it! I added some makeshift "power pads" to mine, and it makes a huge difference (to my legs and feet) in comfort and performance. This is a great cruising/commuting wheel that holds the road really well, and has amazing range.”
“The Monster is a smooth and stable EUC, easy to ride, and comfortable at higher speeds for a new rider which for me encouraged me to approach 20 MPH. As my skill and confidence builds over time, I think this EUC will make me feel at ease cruising at 20 to 25 MPH. It can easily go faster, but for me that will be more than enough.
I'm a heavier rider and it had no problem cruising up moderately steep grades. It is not as quick to accelerate and decelerate as the King Song 16X I just bought 2 months ago and learned to ride on. But that is just the difference in the type of wheel it is. The Monster is a cruiser while the 16X is comparable to a roadster sports car.”
“I cannot properly review this as I only have eskate boards to compare it to, but I can tell you this.... It's scary as Hell, but stable, and smooth, and PPoowerful. You barely feel a difference when riding over soft grass versus concrete. Now that last sentence implies that I have put a 100 miles on the thing but it's been a week and I'm still on my first charge. There is certainly a learning curve and riding it seated seems to be a good start. In my opinion, the key to learning to ride this thing is realizing that a bicycle doesn't stay up if it's not moving, so why do I keep expecting this to? You just have to man up and get some speed....without a doubt ..FUN!”
“Sure, the unit is great and a bunch of fun, but you already know all that so why repeat? The thing that sets this purchase apart from almost every other, is the people behind the website. Jason is great. Period. I love a company who offers overnight service and actually ships right away. I hate paying for overnight when there is a 3-5 day or more “handling” period. Why couldn’t I wait? Well, I did wait. Five weeks to be exact, but NOT from Jason, from some Jacka$$ on that “magic carpet” site who never delivered. I just got tried of waiting for a delivery because I trusted a BS tracking number. The unit is GREAT and eWheels is AWESOME.. I wish I had come here in the first place. “I have had my 84v monster v3 for maybe a week now and have over 300 miles on it already. The wheel rides Soooo smooth and the speed + range are perfectly balanced in my opinion.
The body has a nice carbon fiber look and a sweet looking "monster" sign shining through the body in red LEDs.
The wheel also includes a speaker/speakers (haven't opened to check how many) but they are EXTREMELY loud. The loudest I've heard on a wheel honestly. However, they are mainly tweers, so don't expection full range audio with good bass.
Overall, I highly recommend this wheel to those that are willing to spend the price on a wheel, as it is well worth it!”
