“The first thing I noticed is that 'these things are heavy!' – well turns out they're 777g each, and the originals are 580g each. That's a 400g increase for the pair or 0.8lb. For a 50lb wheel a 0.8lb increase is practically nothing.
The second thing I noticed is that 'these things are awesome'. No math involved for this one.. I think I'm just right. Loads more grip and stability. Also super stylish. I'm looking forward to putting _another_ 12,000mi on my KS 18XL with these new petals.
The only downside of these is that the original petals can be seriously difficult to remove if you've put the kind of milage on your wheel as I have. I had to get a big hammer to get the right petal removed. Most folks won't have this issue though, 8mm steel rods don't _usually_ bend that much. Perhaps test removing your petals before ordering these and see if you'll be needing a replacement petal hanger in addition.”
