“Holy Cow! This thing is amazing! I got it charged up fully, tightened the breaks and throttle to a good comfortable spot and was ready to rip! Would definitely buy again.
Pros:
-Awesome Build Quality
-Fast
-Regenerative Breaks really work when you're at the high speeds (30mph +)
-Fun as hell
-High ground clearance - clears one step without needing to pick up the heavy son of a B.
Cons:
-I'd say price, but for what you get with name-brand Battery cells, it's really a Pro cause it's priced great for what you get.
-It goes so fast you'll need a helmet.
-The speedometer might be off a little, when testing against the speed-limit signs that tell you how fast you are going I'm about 1-2 mph slower on the radar-sign. So that 41 on the speedometer only says i'm 39-40 on the radar sign.
I started my scooter journey with a xaomi m365. But I wanted to go faster, so I put custom firmware on the m365 and got 2 more mph. 17mph wasn't cutting it. So I hop over to the Mercane Wide Wheel. The WideWheel has a different feel, but 25mph didn't quite scratch my itch. But this bad boy, holy cow! 40mph (I usually get around 35-37 as a top speed without that stretch of straight away to hit 40). I think my Journey stops here for a while. Also, this thing does feel the most stable out of all the scooters when riding - not only build quality, but the ride feels safe and stable.
Also, good company. eWheels was in touch with me during the purchase (I called ahead about shipping time and signing for the package - the eWheels guy then emailed me thanking me for the call and order.)”
“One month passed I drove 540 km on my DUALTRON II. So far so good. One thing is a big minus : poor cushioning. If road is asphalt - the ride is nice, if a concrete or a rough pavement - the brain in head turns in a milk shake !”
“I’ve only taken this out a couple of times but I’m very impressed with the power and suspension. It’s built like a tank and I’m looking forward to years of fun with this machine. The Dualtron 2 will hit 40mph with no problem and takes hills with ease. It is a very stable and comfortable ride with excellent braking power. Using the turbo and dual motors modes, I’ve maxed out at about 30 miles for the range. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy again from eWheels.”
“My name is Josh. I'm from Seattle. Here in my area due to the huge economic boom, traffic is becoming a nightmare. With commute times going over an hour to get 10 miles, I needed another solution. I bought this Dualtron scooter specifically for commuting to and from work. This machine has done its job well and cut my commute time down from 1 hour and 30 minutes to just 35 minutes. Maintenance is easy, and the community has really helped me figure out how to do it myself.
This machine handles really really well. It takes hills like a champ and bumps/cracks/potholes are NOTHING. I hit curbs in the sidewalk from driveway depressions at full speed and its amazing. At top speed a full face helm is recommended or some type of goggles because of the amount of tears that come out of your eyes. Moving on.
Speed. Top speed is 65 kph which is 40.3 mph. My average speed was ~30 mph as it took me about 30 minutes to go 10 miles. I could have gotten faster but the amount of water in my eyes was blurring my vision.
Climbing. This thing climbs hills with ease but you need to use both motors. Eco will still take you up the hill but you will lose considerable amounts of speed.
Brakes. Going down hills was quite fun, the electric brake I changed to medium before I started my decent. The disk brakes are really strong and lock the wheels too easily, so you have to be very gentle.
Acceleration. This machine flies. Hold onto the handlebars with all your strength because this thing MOVES. Once you get up to speed and stop accelerating you feel a little better but since there is nothing to hold you on other than your hands, so you really have to hold on.
Cruise Control. This scooter has a cruise control setting that allows you to take your finger off the throttle and focus on staying on. The cruise control starts by holding the throttle down for 7 seconds. You can turn it off by tapping the throttle again which will start the electric brake or if on ECO-Single you can just tap the brakes and it will turn it off. (Setting modifiable with P6)
Turning. The scooter banks and turns quite well, not very great at quick turns or very small spaces. An EUC is better in this department.
Off road. The tires are big and with the suspension, bumps, cracks, and rocks are no problem at all. I can drive through gravel with ease and I have no fear of falling. (Off Road Tires for additional purchase)
Weight. This machine is quite hefty and not for the weak. If you need to carry it up stairs I would recommend a lighter scooter if you can't lift more than 60 lbs. There is an aftermarket Carry Handle that is available which attaches to the seat mount holes (no drilling required)
Foldability. The fold is above the front wheel. The folding mechanism is a C clamp with a quick lever release. The C clamp fits into a depressed spot on the steering shaft to prevent slipping while riding. That depression makes sliding the C clamp up the shaft difficult when trying to fold the bar down. To make it easier, you unlock the clamp and unscrew the quick release lever a small amount and while it's still in the depressed portion, attempt to fold the bar, which opens the C clamp enough for you to slide it over that bump. I imagine that this will break over time, so keep an eye on the clamp and look for any signs of wear. If this snaps while riding, you could seriously hurt yourself.
Battery. This machine has an expected range of 80-100 KM (~50-62 Mi) range based on ECO mode. Now, speaking of ECO mode. It enables high regenerative braking as well as limits the speed to 31 kph. Turbo mode removes the speed limit and some of the regenerative braking so top speed can be attained.
NEW USER FRIENDLY! I brought this over to my family and had a few of them try it out on the lowest speed setting. Easy to learn, easy to control. They had it down in less than a minute.”
