“I bought etwow GT 2019 model without the drum brake. I usually don't speed much, less than 30 kmh and it happens to be my old model booster plus' maximum speed. By the way the GT's maximum is 40. Personally 30 is more than enough in the city commute and electric brake is good enough if you don't speed more than that. When I tested up to 40kmh it was a little scary. This GT model is so much powerful and runs longer. I was happy with my previous booster plus model that I rode past 3 years so it was an easy decision to buy etwow again. And I didn't need bluetooth function or drum brake with $200 more. Any cables and wires involved, I'm mechanically challenged, so without works better for me. This GT model is a huge A+. And etwow was very kind through their email communication”
“Recieved my 2020 GT yesterday. Let me tell you something. This is my first electric scooter & I am BLOWN AWAY by how fast this thing is!! Ready to go out the box & is VERY light, & anesthetically pleasing. I got the Matte Black. I'm still in shock as to how speedy this thing is. “I bought this scooter to replace my Ninebot Max and so far it's been great. I'm 200lbs and it takes me 24 mph as verified by my phone's GPS. The scooter is very light, easy to fold, and the build quality is great! I used it yesterday for a quick Walmart trip and just placed it in the cart without a problem. There is no stem wobble and the suspension really helps over rough surfaces to the point I don't mind the solid tires. I haven't had a chance to test the range yet but I'm guessing it will take me about 15 miles. I've had a lot of scooters over the last few years and so far this is one of my most fun and for this period of life, suits my needs the best. For reference, here are all the scooters I've had to compare it to: Segway ES1, ES2, ES3, ES4, Dualtron Raptor, Wide Wheel, Speedway V, Dualtron Thunder, and the Ninebot Max. Customer service so far has been great. Jason was very helpful and got my order shipped out the same day I ordered it. I was lucky enough to get it delivered the next day since I love in San Diego. “The E-Twow GT is well-built and a perfect commuter scooter! (especially for beginners)
I got my E-Twow GT after doing extensive research - I've always liked the idea of electric scooters after zooming around on a Razor as a kid. However, I'm a complete beginner and wanted a model that was fast and durable enough for my commute, but not a monster scoot that would overwhelm me.
*The E-Twow GT was the perfect decision for me for these reasons:*
• LIGHTWEIGHT - I almost got carried away and got a heavier scooter for more range and features. However, I got the GT mostly for a 2.7 mile commute and its range is MORE than enough. I also naively thought that maybe a 40-55lb scooter wouldn't be a big deal, but when you're running around and stashing scoots during a commute and at the office the 26lbs of the GT is the most I could manage comfortably and still be nimble.
• POWERFUL - in the "under 30lb" weight class the GT is undoubtedly the most powerful with 700W (I think peak might even be higher). I'm new to e-scooters and it gets up to 15 mph quick like it's nobody's business. It's the fastest E-Twow makes as of 2020.
• BATTERY LIFE/RANGE and pretty fast charging - I rode the GT for around 20 miles at 6-10 mph and it still had 40% left. Unless you're a speed demon this thing packs more than enough punch to match and pass cyclists. It charged from 40-80% in under an hour and the rest in another hour so you could conceivably recharge very quickly.
• ELECTRONIC BRAKE - I'm not one for repairing physical brakes and I thought I would get a longer scooter lifespan with less moving parts. So far the e-brake has worked very well, I was able to stop way ahead of a texting crossing pedestrian today. All the official reviews complain about these but I think it works pretty great.
• AIRLESS TIRES - All the official reviews also said the airless tires made the ride a bit more harsh and I'd say that's probably true, but the suspension works well enough that it's not too bad! Just don't go off-roading or hit potholes and you should be fine. Airless means less maintenance as well and that's something I like.
• BUILD QUALITY - is pretty good, everything is solid and I don't feel afraid scooting down the street on this. There's not really any stem wobble and the handlebars, even though they're smaller than most and foldable, feel solid and don't really have any concerning amount of play.
I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to big purchases like a new e-scooter but I've been very happy with my E-Twow GT so far. If you're looking for the most lightweight yet powerful, sleek and nimble starter scooter the GT is perfect for you!”
