“Just what I was looking for (smaller and more nimble than the S22 and IPX rated). The eWheels team pointed out some things that might dissuade me from the purchase, but did so thinking about my wellbeing as a customer, not their bottom line. I appreciate this as a customer and will continue to come back for all my future “stupid electric rideable” needs.”
“Put in my first 50 miles on this wheel and am loving it so far, still playing with the suspension to get it just right but overall couldnt be happier with my purchase.”
“As far as the wheel, Inmotion V14, I am upgrading from a Begode T4. I love the ride on the T4 but the quality was, well, it looked like a prototype built in someone's garage. I was worried the V14 wouldn't be as nimble in tight trails as the T4 but it is great. Build quality is on anothe level from the Begode. Anybody want to buy a T4?”
“Now that I've put over 400 miles on the V14 I'd like to share my thoughts on it. But first, I'd like to qualify my perspective with my experience: I've owned over a dozen wheels from various vendors and have over 10k miles under my belt. I normally ride on the road, various trails, and rarely go over 40 mph. I ride year round in Colorado, in freezing temps and inches of snow.
Features: one of the reasons that I choose the V14 and not the Lynx was the various features Inmotion has provided; found the Lynx very tempting though. The big one for me was being able to set the speed limit to whatever I want, not just one or two default speeds; one should be able to set warning beeps and max speed to anything on any wheel IMO.
Range: Range is as expected, the Lynx pulls ahead in this regard; would love to get a little more range out of the V14, but its good enough and the quick recharge is a decent tradeoff.
Handling: for being a heavy wheel, its the most balanced wheel I've been on; it feels like riding a 90lb V11. Even though it's a heavy wheel, its still pron to wobbling at the top end of its maxim speed. Guessing this most likely do to its smaller wheel and more vertical design. In this case, you are trading stability at high speeds for ability and climbing capability. Recommend thinking of this wheel as more of an off-road or trials wheel; If you wanna race, recommend you look at other wheels. Having owned and destroyed two V11s, I really like that the V14 is heavier and easier to work on. Side note: snow, ice and scree seem to be a challenge when turning at an angle atm, thinking its the tire combined with low temps; about to swap out the tire to see if that changes things.
Suspension: One of the other reasons I went with this wheel was the robust suspension that it advertised, I've almost lost track with how many cadaver parts and titanium screws I've had installed the past few years. Right now, the suspension seems oddly stiff; I saw a post about Inmotion sending batch 1 folks 4 spacers to address the issue. Need to explore this more..
Overall, good to great wheel so far!”
“The eWheels team might be the best in the EUC industry. I have purchases multiple wheels over the past few years from various companies, EUCs can be challenging due to quality control and wear; eWheels is different in that they will do there best to keep you rolling. You can by wheels from several places, eWheels stands apart when it comes to warranty support or simply repairing your wheel; can't say enough good things about these guys!”
