“PLEASE IGNORE MY PREVIOUS REVIEW I'M NOT ABLE TO DELETE/EDIT IT. Having gained some UEC experience, I am now able to proficiently ride this little wheel. It also made me a much better UEC rider because I learned micro-movements involving my ankles and hip swiveling. The pads are still rock hard but you don't need pads on little wheels in my opinion, also the power to weight ratio on this thing is insane you really can do some crazy stuff with it to improve your skills on other wheels. I am now able to hip swivel and ride backwards (mostly practiced on this guy) on my other larger wheels. Sorry E-wheels, I will not write reviews in ignorance any more please delete the other one if you can.”
We very much appreciate this updated review! Far too often do we get customers with scathing reviews, without an honest full evaluation. We're always available via email to discuss any issues. We try our best to rectify any problems, or to further discuss the topic of EUCs. The important thing to note is that you're now proficient with the 16S, and have also learned some vital techniques that will carry over to bigger and faster machines.
“I've been riding this wheel for a couple of months now at about the max speed of 21mph and it's still going great. I've already put over 200 miles on it. Still silent and smooth as silk. No problems whatsoever other than some foot pain from long extended rides. Left foot falls asleep and I have to stop for a couple of minutes and walk around before getting back on and continuing my journey.. Plus I'm 52 so that's probably not helping either.. Just a small follow-up review. I'm very happy with this wheel. The app works great with my Google Pixel 7 Pro. Eventually want to get a bigger wheel that's quite a bit faster. But this wheel has been the perfect trainer and commuter wheel and can't recommend it enough.”
“I purchased my first EUC, a KingSong 16S, in April of 2022 and have been very pleased with it. After 1 hour of practice, I was able to ride about 20' without touching anything or putting a foot down. After about 6 hours of practice, I felt comfortable ridding it several miles on the road. At the present time, I have ridden the wheel 325 miles and feel very confident and comfortable on it. The wheel has not demonstrated any problems to date.
Recently, I attached power pads created by a 3-D printer. Here is a link to that printer file: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4690957/apps . I feel much more connected to, and in control of, the wheel with the pads attached.
I continue to work at improving my riding skills. At 250 miles, I began learning to ride backward. I can now easily ride backward for 100' as well as transition from forward movement to backward movement and back to forward movement several times in succession without stopping. The power pads have also enable me to begin jumping over bumps and obstacles.
I always wear protective gear: helmet, elbow pads, hand pads, and knee pads. I continue to be very happy with this wheel. I am 5' - 9", 150 lbs, and 70 years old. So far, there have been no major falls and no injuries.”
“Just a quick comment on the recent scare on the 16S batteries flaming. I have two of these that are now 2-3 years old and zero issues with the batteries. They hold charge well, take me up steep hills effortlessly, and recharge in the expected time. Safety features keeping you from excess speed (and potential battery stress) function nicely. This is one solid little sport-wheel!”
“I love my king song 16s. It's what I learned on. Everyone should learn and a nice grassy area if you can better for you and better for the wheel. I have two of them my son and myself were riding within the first 15 minutes and going as far as 50 yards and more within the first 30 minutes. Not so scary on the grass. Yesterday I started riding the 18 XL and did not feel nearly as nice as the 16s. I'm 5'9 and weigh 155 lb my son who weighs 260 lb and he is 5'8 he tried the 18 XL and he liked it better”
“This is my first EUC and I have two years of experience with the OneWheel (both XR+ and Pint). The KS16S is a dream. It's not polished like the OneWheel -- the app SUCKS and is weird, the speakers SUCK (bluetooth is inconsistent), and the lift-handle sometimes doesn't kill the motor -- but these things can be overlooked. While the learning curve is very steep -- don't believe the hype, it took me weeks to get truly comfortable -- the KS16S kills the OneWheels in every single way now: fun, speed, range, and safety too. I've actually never fallen on the EUC and I've gone from zero to riding in traffic. The 16S is also quite fast: I have tilt-back set now at 34km and it's fast enough. And the range is insane when compared to the OneWheel. But the fun of just balancing and riding over different terrain and maneuvering is great. And the eWheels extras -- larger pedals and better charger -- were amazing upgrades that I'm glad I didn't need to think about.
I'm riding this wheel at 50psi which is lovely, especially since my naked post-covid weight is 210 lbs.”
