King Song 16X 1554Wh Battery/2200W Motor, 3" Wide Tire Reviews

4.9 Rating 101 Reviews
I wanted a wheel with enough torque for my 205 lbs build to climb hills. Easily cruises in the 25-30 mph, has the range for the group rides I attend (25-30 mi). Has the build quality to last AND is battery safe. Convenient to stroll around with. Light, nimble and maneuverable. Honestly, this is the best all-around wheel out there. (Well, maybe the V12 will be once it’s been out for more than a year and all the kinks have been ironed out) I have an MSP HT that’s faster and more stable and better for off-road, but every little tumble, means more broken shell parts to duct tape together. I also have a V10F that is great for quick, jaunts in the neighborhood and to pick up take out. But, don’t have the speed, range, torque for group rides. Maybe 15 miles tops before I get speed throttle down below 20 mph.

It's only been my 3rd day with this wheel as an absolute beginner (2-3hr sessions each). I got this wheel because I live in NYC and wanted to get to the point where I can do food deliveries with it. The KS-16x, I read, had great range, good speed for a beginner and was responsive in urban environments, so I bought it. I will say, it is pretty challenging to get used to and there is a learning curve steeper than most PVs--I used to skate for 7 years, do deliveries on ebikes, scooters, etc. Those youtube videos you watch of people learning is no joke. Being this is my first wheel, I know I'm gonna scratch it up from it falling, so that happened on the first day. On my first day, within an hour I was able to ride in my local basketball court area. The second day, I couldn't even get on and balance, let alone ride, and I realized it was because I pumped up the tire pressure too much on the second day compared to the first day. So the third day I went out with an air pump and played with the tire pressure and found 40psi to be my favorite. I even found enough confidence to ride on the bike lanes in Manhattan and went on a more secluded bike path near the river for a couple of hours. Mounting and dismounting remain the thing I need to work on most. The acceleration on this thing is great. The speed I have yet maxed out on due to still learning but I don't really need anything too fast in NYC anyway (right now). This machine seems pretty robust and I have confidence with it falling over for years to come, as long as I'm not ghost riding it off bridges or something. Rode it for probably 3 hours today and I think it went down to 79% battery life left from 100%. I'm happy with this machine. But it's a challenging thing to learn. I would love to get to the point where it's second nature to me. From what I hear, this will come with time. It's a funny thing, but before I got into EUCs I never really paid much attention to anyone using them, but within a week I've spotted so many EUC riders out and about on their machines just because that's where my focus is now. Without watching the youtube videos out there and learning more about progression with using EUCs and the capabilities one can possess, I'm not sure if I would have the confidence or determination to keep it up. However, it is amazing to see these experienced riders doing and talking about how it becomes an extension of their bodies. I understand what that would feel like and am determined to reach that level, as I feel like that would be a point in which I realize the true potential of these machines!

I love this wheel, it’s is my second 16X, got it as a backup for my V12. I have owned the KS 14D, 16S, S18, Gotway MSX 84 Volt & MSP HT. The 16X is the most fun from 0-31 mph. It’s very playful and sporty, not the fastest but, one of the most convenient, reliable, well built wheel, I have owned. Made a few mods, to make it completely my own.

This review is for eWheels.com and the Kingsong 16X. I was not able to choose the Kingsong 16x product for the review so I chose the 16X seat, hoping others will still see this. The wheel: The Kingsong 16X is my first EUC and I bought it with no experience riding one. I originally reserved an InMotion V11 but I have very little patience so I contacted eWheels to see about switching to another wheel. They recommended the Kingsong 16X as it has similar specs, although it does not have suspension. My impatient self pulled the trigger and I believe I bought the perfect starter wheel considering my starting budget is in range of the 16X. I have zero issues with the wheel other than not having enough time to ride as much as I'd like. For what it's worth to any new rider reading this: It took me a solid 140 hours to 'figure it out' and be able to keep my balance, confidently. eWheels: They were responsive to my inquiries and not only answered my questions but they also provided alternatives to those answers in case they weren't what I was looking for. Anticipating customer needs like this is some top-tier customer service and I truly appreciate it as a new rider of EUCs. It speaks volumes to the character of a company when they offer their experience and knowledge instead of only offering items for sale. This is how you build loyalty! Building trust with an online retailer can be a little scary when spending this kind of money. eWheels' responsiveness and attention to detail have certainly won my trust. Additionally, I came back to this site to purchase some footpads for my new wheel. I noticed there is a statement indicating if you are an existing customer, when purchasing the footpads (not sure if this extends to all purchases), I would not be charged for shipping. Bonus! When I paid, I noticed that I WAS charged for shipping. Being an excited new EUC rider, I didn't really care. I assumed this was a past promotion that was not updated on the site. To my surprise, once I was billed and checked my online statements, I noticed that eWheels refunded the shipping charge which reinforced that attention to detail and trust I mentioned above. I think this is a top notch company and I my two experiences have been wonderful. I'm sure there are other things on this site that I need so I'll eventually be back and I know that once I return to buy something else, that experience will also be wonderful. Thanks, eWheels, for supporting the trust and confidence I needed, and wanted, to make a purchase of this size.

This is my first wheel, I'm 48 and have had it for a a few months and have done over 300 miles on it so far. First of all I'll tell you that this thing a blast, there's nothing like it , I've got two motorcycles that are almost boring to ride compared to this wheel. Add ons that I have got are the spiked pedal plates and the E Wheels generic Power pads, the spiked pedal plates while expensive are definitely worth it especially when going off road and the power pads while not the best are better than riding the the wheel without any pads. I think this wheel has been out since 2019 and it seems to be well sorted out and rides very well. I started out with the rolls nz cover that protected it very well when i was learning and crashing, but have since removed it as I like the looks of the wheel better without it and the power pads are much more solid connected to the body directly, and I don't crash anymore. If you're on the fence about whether or not you should buy an euc just do it and get a 16x, it's a good solid wheel for your first wheel. The only con i can say about this wheel is the tire, after many trys airing it down and trying to get it perfectly true i gave up and just deal with it. Chalked it up to being a cheap tire, still has a little side to side and up and down wobble to it that i can't get out, but nevertheless it's still a great wheel and I've had a lot of fun on this thing. And a shout-out to ewheels customer support, every question or concern I've contacted them about they got right back to me right away. If you're looking into buying an euc this is where you need to get it from.

This is my first wheel, and I picked it because I live in a very hilly area, and wanted the assurance I could get up the hills without having to resort to using power pads. I also wanted something that had gone through several revisions and was a bit more time-tested. I had looked at a couple of other wheel options, but this seemed to be the best bet. What I like: 1. Easily climbs hills 2. Long Range, I don't have to think about charging for several days or even a week at a time for the distances I do. 3. Looks, the wheel doesn't look as cheap/plasticy as some wheels. 4. Headlight is pretty strong, and works well enough at night to illuminate the path directly in front of the wheel. For paved trails or sidewalks, this is enough. For off-road or very dark surface streets, I still prefer having a helmet light pointed in front as an additional flood. 5. Turning, the smaller 16" diameter turns perhaps tighter than the larger wheels. 6. The wheel is pretty quiet, so far I have heard no fans or other loud noises while riding, this makes being in nature more enjoyable. Dislikes: 1. As a tall rider, 6'5", maybe the wheel is slightly smaller than the ideal size for me. 2. It could be because I'm still a new rider, but the wheel is a bit squirrelly. For a skilled rider, maybe this would be an advantage, increased response to small movements. But for a novice, it increases learning time a bit. I understand this characteristic would change if I use a lower PSI, but for safety, I'm keeping the weel in the low to mid 30's based on my 160lb body weight. This increased reaction to little movements is not really an issue on paved trails or sidewalk, but does make me a little more nervous when riding alongside traffic in bike lanes. Ultimately as my skill increases, and or I decide on a lower PSI or even a different tire, the wheel handling will change. 3. Wheel weight seems to be more at the top than the bottom, which might contribute to #2. 4. Start-up beeps are annoying. I have no idea what other wheels sound like, but really, does a wheel need to beep so many times when turning on, and then connecting to phone app? Today my total logged distance is around 55 miles since I purchased the wheel, and I look forward to many more miles from it. At the time of purchase, I had also considered the Inmotion v12, but feel happy with my purchase so far. The small complaints I do have, mostly handling due to wheel size vs. my body height are likely not to change much between these wheels. If anything, I probably need a larger wheel at some point, at least for riding alongside cars more confidently. All-in all, very happy with my first purchase, the hills are no problem - thanks eWheels!

The KS16X was my first EUC. As such, it was a great buy. It's built well, and has a great balance of speed, performance, & range. I didn't want my first wheel to be one I would quickly outgrow. And though I'm sure I will buy a 2nd (and 3rd) EUC from eWheels, I don't ever see me growing bored with the 16X.
