I am a 6’3” 330lb rider. The King Song S18 is my first wheel. I of course had to learn to ride before I could do this review. Which means you will have to take my review with a grain of salt, due to my lack of experience with other wheels. In short I love the wheel for its smooth ride and amazing power I never cease to be amazed at how well it handles hilly of road. The best thing since the invention of snow boarding.

I have developed an immediate addiction upon purchase of this my first electric unicycle. It is powerful enough to haul around a 200+ lb man up hills, along dirt trails, and around the serene village where I live. I have read concerns by others about its less-than ideal power and battery, yet I haven't hit those limits yet in a month of mixed-use riding. Its rare complaints are entirely reasonable and I listen to the machine when it speaks.

I wanted a suspension wheel for a while. I've been riding 16X for almost a year and I loved everything about it, but it missed suspension. I had a bad crash on it: I did not notice a little pothole and the wheel launched me in the air. I was 70 yo at a time and recovery took around 4 months. I've been looking at V11 and S18 and even put a deposit for V11 at some point. Then kept reading about it and discovered a lot of unhappy riders, complaining about control boards, motor bearings and fragility of V11. I called eWheels and they refunded my deposit without asking questions. I read about unhappy riders of S18 too, complaining about short range, insufficient torque and cut outs due to overpowering of the motor. I am a conservative rider, not speed crazy and don't do very long trips (I am 71), so I decided to buy one. I have been riding it for 4 days now. I weight 170 lbs, 180 geared up, and during these 4 days I put 46 miles on this wheel on ONE CHARGE!!! In the end the wheel was still ride-able: It had 3% battery left and I was able to ride at 12 mph. This exceeds my expectations!!! I am also absolutely happy with torque: I never got problems accelerating as hard as I could at low speeds. (I don't do that at high speeds). This wheel is way more stable than 16X. I worry no more about potholes, actually looking for them, being happy running over so easy. I highly recommend S18 if you are not too heavy and ride conservatively. I have not tried yet riding off-road, but I am sure, it will do excellent.

Just loving the S18! I coming from inmotion V8. My Riding weight is 195 and I’m averaging 22/29 miles per ride with 50% battery left. I live in a very hilly area and it climbs the hills with no problem. So far I only put 100 miles on it. Once I get tired of this wheel it’s going to be the monster pro. Take care

I was very excited to get the S18, I originally wanted to purchase this wheel but ended up buying a V11 first because it was available at the time and the S18's were on backorder. Out of the box, it is a very attractive wheel with an awesome suspension that works as well as it looks! The S18 is a little uncomfortable to ride straight out of the box, for me at least. I'm not sure if this is because I'm used to riding a narrower, skinnier wheel (V11). But the pads at the top of the wheel feel too wide, the pedals are also very small and this brings your feet closer together on the bottom side, while the pads at the top push your knees apart... it's a little uncomfortable feeling and an awkward riding position for me. However, to solve this I ordered some custom pads to replace the stock ones and I am currently waiting on those to swap them out. Many of my friends have told me this will make a big difference in the rideability and comfort of this wheel. A few notes: The quality isn't what I expected, seems like some cheap plastics involved, feels much cheaper than my InMotion wheels. The motor is 2200 watts, but it does not feel that powerful. I don't know if this is because of the way King Song tunes their wheels, or if it's because this is an axel wheel instead of a hollow core, or maybe just because of the small batteries used in this wheel. I'm used to riding a 2200 watt motor from my V11 and they are way different! Like an Audi R8 (V11) vs. a stock Ford Focus (S18). All in all, I am excited to ride this wheel when I get the new pads in. I will use this as a slow cruiser wheel, I'm definitely not trying to push any limits on this thing.
