While an older machine, the S22 Pro is still very relevant. It has some of the best suspension for the trails. Shipping is always free in the contiguous United States, and FedEx is usually very prompt. Hope you like the wheel!
“King Song S22 Roller Slider Suspension Review
For my son’s birthday, I bought him a set of CNC roller sliders to replace the problematic stock King Song sliders. Jason was super helpful getting this going for me and not telling my son who had been corresponding with him frequently.
The rollers were easy to install on the machined aluminum rails. The rails are accurately machined. The screws fit perfectly in the countersunk holes and the e-clips are easy to insert into the notches. Once the roller bearings are installed they are very secure.
Sliding the wheel into the main unit was extremely easy once it was aligned. Only took a little bit of jiggling to get all four roller assemblies aligned with the channels.
The suspension moves much more easily, and there is a definite difference when you move the suspension adjustments one click at a time on both the compression and rebound settings.
The kit came complete with everything needed and included a couple extra roller bearings.
The entire assembly went quickly. My son installed the kit while I sat by ready to help. He was able to do all the work with no assistance from me.
The suspension has not needed to be cleaned yet, however it looks like it will be much easier than the old slider system.
I would highly recommend this upgrade to anyone who currently has a King Song S22 with the old style rubber bushed suspension slider system.”
“This is my sixth wheel and far and away the biggest, heaviest thing I have ever ridden. The weight, size, and width all combine to make this a bit intimidating to an OG Solowheeler who's never touched a suspension wheel. Did I tip it over the first 90 degree corner I tried? Yes, but after a mile or two of fiddling it was close to as comfortable as anything I have ridden in the past - though I do feel a little bowlegged with the width (5'10" 160pds). The suspension is great and works incredibly well out of the box, but the extra weight does add a bit to the learning curve (keep an eye on the insides of your knees as well, there is a sharp edge in there that built a few good bruises before I added padding. I selected this wheel as the "single best high end wheel without needing 50mi+ range" and I feel it has lived up to that expectation. That said, I do not like the factory tire: the sharp edged profile is probably going to tip you over in your first hard corner and the lack of an easy rear handle (and poor quality of the trolly handle), but all of those are problems easily mended by small Etsy vendors. I will also not that I never used the stock power pads, but fairing and grizzla flows on first thing.”
Even though we had prior miscommunication, glad to know that we got all of that sorted out. Hope the S22 Pro is treating you well, and your charger fan mod was a great idea! You should share it with the community, it could be helpful to many others.
“Decided to pull the trigger on a s22 couldn't be happier with my experience with e-wheels answered. Every question I had and concern will definitely recommend and will definitely be buying my next wheel form ewheels”
“So far my Kingsong S22 Pro Gold is great. Haven’t had any problems and it looks awesome! Although I’ve heard some people online complain about problems with the bearings after 300 miles. I guess I’ll cross that bridge when i get there.”
“The King Song S22 is a great wheel thus far. I commute with this over 30 miles a day as well as take it on rugged mountain bike trails and it holds up to the task. When you drop or scratch the Gold the underlying red shows through so don’t expect it to stay razzle dazzle for long if you’re ripping through Mtn bike trails. The suspension feels much better than the original s22 without the new slider upgrades. If you go really fast off the line with these and push it to its limit the battery life significantly decreases. I only got about 35-40 miles from full charge but I was maxing it out. If you’re looking for a powerful long distant commuter this probably isn’t the one for you if you like ripping from place to place. If you want something that’s good on the streets and great on the trails, this one is hard to beat. The seat on mine came with a sticky thing that holds in on but it was ripped off the seat brand new in the box . The power pads are all Velcro which is nice if you want to adjust however not sure how durable it’ll be long term. Aftermarket power pads may be in my future as the ones that come stock feel a little small for me. Anyways overall a great euc”
