“Update after a season...
First of all, I'm 50+ years old and have enjoyed fast street cars, paddled quads at Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and now this (mid-life crisis) eScooter. As with any motorized device, there will be need for support and I'm not the first and won't be the last to say, these guys take care you you! You won't truly understand until you need it and they are top-notch!
On to the Lighting. My wife says I look like a blur when I buzz the house. She also says I need to keep my eyes on the road. Well, I know I'm smiling the entire time I drive this thing because it's such a rush! It's fun to look around and see the town fly by as you wonder how I got home safe without getting pulled over for speeding.
Man, is this thing fun!”
“5 stars for customer service. Very attentive and one on one at times. Had electric issues, very caring feeling in responses. Got over a 1000 miles on, in about 10 months. Feel like you guys took care of me. Payed for some parts and got hooked up with parts at no cost even though it was my fault a couple of times. Thanks for the service!”
“Wow just wow.... way beyond what I was expecting with this TW Lightening
The power and get up and go is not for the faint of heart. They should add to the owners manual "Always use both hands" because if you're not careful this scooter will jump right out from under you...
Customer service with my 40 questions was the best response and always had the answers I needed
The hardest part is waiting for the delivery (Which was prompt) ... like waiting for Santa to arrive
I did pick the Fast Charger which really helps with the charging of the unit. Well worth the extra money
You'll defiantly turn some heads when you hit the little Bell and then blast past them...
Have fun and don't forget your helmet”
“INSANELY fast I hit 40mph and weigh 170 you could say I thrive for adrenaline and this scooter is by far one of the craziest things I’ve done or ridden does really good on the road can even take it on dirt! I’ve even jumped it and takes it pretty well just have to do your check ups and make sure it’s tight 10/10 from me BUT!! Be careful if the battery is low and you are on full throttle going fast it will give you a DRAMATIC warning so just make sure it’s charged or you’re not going 30-35 and crash that is my only complaint but geez it’s addicting and thought I’d need such a fast one that’s got everything I need but this has way more as soon as you’re going over 30 is when you have enough... my shipment did take a while though but it was well worth it”
“My scooter is a beast i cannot believe the performance its spooky. Ewheels are awsome they are very helpful and professional and were a pleasure to deal with.”
“I received my Lightning+ after 6+ agonizing weeks of waiting and yes, It's a monster! Being my first high power beast scooter and after seeing all the "normal" ones lol on the street, this scooter is huge and hungry! Pictures and videos don't do it justice till you see it in person. Yes it's a heavy beast. Everything is just big and built well and tough. The fit and finish is quality stuff. I might mention that if your motor axle looks to be longer on one side than the other, don't worry as it's like this from the factory.
It's tempting to jump on it and head out as soon as you can but I suggest going over the scooter and checking all the bolts, screws etc. Be careful with the 2 set screws at bottom of stem where it bends as mine was super tight and I stripped it. When you do ride for the first time, just be super careful when going over 30 mph cause the front wheel's gonna wobble. Grip the handlebars well and wear safety gear for sure. Actually just use mode 1 till you get the hang of it.
Acceleration is neck snapping so hold on. No cell phone in one hand and handle bar on the other. It'll buck you off lol. It'll even wheel spin while in motion. You'll be able to blast past cars and even pass them. I basically just ride on the roads now with all the other cars. Oh, wear safety gear for sure. Brakes are strong and well modulated. The "Eco/Turbo" and "Single/Dual" buttons can be confusing so I picture it as 2 rows and going across left to right would be in/out for Eco/Single and out/in for Turbo/Dual.
You'll be sore, especially your legs after you ridden it first time. Don't lean or pull on the handlebars too much. Just lean forward when accelerating and lean back when braking. Turn by looking in the direction and lean with your body. Hills are a piece of cake for this monster. As for mileage, well it depends. I have the 60v battery so If you have steep hills and ride with no worries and use turbo and have fun, then you're looking at around 20 miles. Ifyou go easy and use eco or single or lower speed modes, then it'll be close to the advertised specs.
Last but not least, the crew at eWheels are super great and super helpfull. They respond quickly to questions and are very knowledgeable. Thanks eWheels for putting up with my 20+ emails and countless changes to my order. Plus I got some surprises with my order too. So if you want to know how it feels like to ride on a magic carpet, well I suggest you get a hold of eWheels asap!”
