“As an alternative to taking the NYC subway, I wanted to get something that could get me to and from work from Manhattan to Brooklyn quickly and safely during the pandemic. I also needed something that wouldn't take up too much precious real estate indoors. After doing weeks of research, I narrowed down my choices to the Turbowheel Swift and the E-twow GT. The safety features (front and rear brakes, suspension, solid without weighing too much to carry up a few flights of stairs) of the Turbowheel Swift won over my husband as I am a fairly klutzy person and a new scooter rider.
We took it out for a spin today on cobblestone, boardwalks, and bike paths, and my husband has decided that he now needs one too. The adjustable handlebar made it easy for both of us to ride the scooter comfortably. The LCD is bright and fairly easy to adjust (once I read the manual carefully). It goes very fast - no need for mode 2 for me! I collapsed the scooter in one minute when we decided to dine outdoors after the ride. It took up very little room under the table, and I was able to do it very easily by myself. I was able to fit a bell, headlight, and phone holder on my handlebars (and still allow them to collapse). Just make sure to measure carefully!
If you are looking for a compact, fairly lightweight, and safe scooter, this one (or two, in our case) is it!”
“My first electric scooter. I am coming from boosted boards, OneWheels, and Electric Unicycles. I enjoy the ease and stability of riding this along with my 7 year old son. Top speed I was able to get on it on a 90%+ charge is about 23-24 mph. It's very nimble and quick. I love it, and especially comfortable purchasing directly off ewheels for their known customer support.”
“I started with the Horizon because I didn't know the Swift existed. If I would have known that I would have just ordered 2 Swifts and been totally content. It's TOTALLY worth the little extra to get the Swift over the horizon. Better battery, dual breaks, better suspension, and on and on. Get this one people.”
“After 100 miles I think it’s time for a review. It’s great entry level e scooter. Compared to others like it, no one else provides the carry handle, trolly wheels and the additional front brake for the price. Even came with a scooter storage bag which was unexpected.
Things to know that isn’t in the manual or hard to find:
1) Must charge to 100% before operating the first time
2) voltage is more accurate then the battery meter to determine battery life. 100% = 54.6 Volts. 0% = 39volts, will shutoff at 40 volts for safety and longevity reasons.
3) Front tire PSI: 35 PSI from most sources. Mines came with 38 PSI. Adjust for your weight. The lighter u are, lower the PSI a bit and vice versa. DO NOT lower below 30PSI no matter what. Rule of thumb, Lower PSI is more comfortable. Higher PSI, faster and more efficient range. Having PSI too high or low will risk damaging the tire and tube.
Specs:
Distance I got: 20miles full charge with few stops. 17~ miles with a lot of stops.
Top speed: 21~ mph on leveled ground. I got 24~ mph on a 10 degree decline.
Bad:
1) The power cover is just a latex type cover that is flimsy. Can pop off on its own. No replacement from what I’ve seen
2) the kick stand is plastic and noticeable short. I question it’s durability. However ewheels offers the extended kick stand and replacements in the Accessories.
Conclusion:
I live in NYC, for the weight, range and speed, it’s hard to beat and perfect for the city. I’ve hit some bad pot holes, cracks and crap in the road and no issues with the scooter or tires. I even hit something that should’ve damaged the tire but nothing happened”
