During the Borghese Gallery Private Tour you will discover the Collection of Italian Renaissance and Baroque Masterpieces and the Secrets of the Borghese Family
“the gallery is a real gem. pity you can only visit it for as little as 2 hours . I do not recommend the walk through the park, better to visit another site with the guide not far away.”
“In October 2019 I visited Italy with 5 dear friends and was in charge of booking our tours. After a ton of research into various agencies I realized Eyes of Rome was a diamond in the rough. Their website is informative and concise, they respond quickly to emails, and they were eager to speak over the phone (and flexible about our 9 hour time difference!) to help organize our itinerary. Out of the 6 tours I booked with Eyes of Rome (see also my review of the Pompeii & Wine tour), this was one of our favorites. Although our group was small we were required to use headsets (gallery policy) but our guide Stefania was just as open to dialogue as she was when we weren’t using them. None of the women in our group are art buffs but you don’t need to be to appreciate this stunning collection. All you need is an amazing guide like Stefania!”
“Barbara was the perfect guide for our Borghese tour—she’s an art historian and is really passionate about her city’s history. Even though your time is limited in the gallery, we never felt rushed. At the beginning of our tour we expressed our interest in Caravaggio; we already saw his works in the churches around the city and wanted to see the famous paintings collected by the Borghese family too. Barbara made sure to give us ample time in the Caravaggio room, and she told us so much about his life and works that in hindsight I wish I had taken notes to remember it all! Thank you Barbara and Eyes of Rome for a tour that far exceeded our expectations.”
“For some reason I thought this tour included more time in the Borghese Gardens, but its real focus is the art gallery. After we finished with our guide we wandered around most of the gardens on our own (for hours!) and somehow found our way to an amazing viewpoint overlooking Piazza del Popolo. Definitely allow time for this, with or without your guide.”
“I can’t imagine seeing the Borghese without our guide Sara. Sure, you can soak in the beauty of the paintings and sculptures on your own, but its the stories behind the masterpieces that will blow you away. And you won’t get such detailed background from a book or audioguide. Sara’s wealth of knowledge was remarkable, and her sweet and relaxed disposition made us feel like we were touring with an old friend. We enjoyed her company so much that we sat and chatted over coffee at the museum caffe when the tour was finished. I can’t recommend this tour enough!”
“My wife and I didn’t realize how difficult it was to get tickets to this gallery, so we weren’t able to visit our first time to Rome. Luckily we were smarter the second time around and planned ahead for a private tour. Best decision we ever made! Once you visit you understand why tickets sell out so far in advance; this is one of the most beautiful museums we’ve ever seen.”
“Eyes of Rome is an outstanding tour company. From the moment we reached out to organize a couple of tours, we knew that we were in the hands of professionals. The office always responded promptly to our questions and our guides Silvia and Katie were outstanding. Between the two of them, they managed to keep our aloof teenagers interested for 4 days straight! Hands down our favorite tour was of the Borghese Gallery. The museum is small but jam-packed with jaw-dropping masterpieces, and I’m not kidding when I say jaw-dropping. The stories behind the works of art are fun for all ages. Silvia and Katie, we will be back!”
“Excellent tour!
Elisa was amazing. She was so personal and fun. She had a wealth of knowledge about all artists in Rome and you can tell Borghese Gallery was her favourite museum. I would tell anyone to do this tour and to choose Elisa, best guide ever!
