About Flair.co:

We founded Flair to solve a problem that almost every house or apartment has: the room that doesn't heat or cool evenly. Its temperature is out of sync with the rest of the house. It's either too hot or too cold.

Flair fixes that. We built a suite of products that give you room-level temperature control at an affordable cost.

We want you to be comfortable and to save energy. It's as simple as that.

The puck/vents do nearly everything you might expect them to. In my case, I have one floor that was getting too much heat/cooling. I paired the puck with my Ecobee thermostat, and my goal was straightforward: balance the temperatures between the two floors more closely resembling a new zone without redoing the ductwork to accomplish this. Flair let me do just this and it works marvelously and was super easy to set up. My configuration is not a complex one, but the combination of pucks and vents could be manipulated to fit many advanced configurations quite easily, I imagine. _____________________________________________________________________ Pros - Easy to configure and set up with the Ecobee (optionally using the remote sensors for activity detection with the Ecobee if desired - I did not other than to gauge the accuracy of the temperature readings) Remote Applications can be used to adjust configurations while away Does exactly what it says it can do (and what I expected) - open and close my linked vents which, in turn, helps keep my two "pseudo zones" better aligned. __________________________________________________________________________ Cons Not the most sophisticated display and could use a display alignment option so if your leaving the puck on the table the cable would be better aligned to the back. It is designed with wall mount in mind so the alignment is up with the cable is down. The opposite if what one might want when placing it on the counter. Seems like an easy software enhancement could address this to me, but then I'm not the Flair R&D team, so... This is more an Ecobee API note, which is that Ecobee does not enable the puck to be considered a remote sensor - it's blind to the Ecobee. While the puck can be used to control Ecobee, it's not fully supported the other way around. Not a biggie for me - just need more sensors. Not the most elegant design especially considering you need to have at least one puck plugged in so unless you want to do some hide the USB cable and plug games, the USB plug is a bit unsightly, albeit no different from any other USB device you may need to plug into an outlet somewhere in your house.

Pucks are essential to create a "room" in the Flair environment. Easy to setup and add to a room in the Flair App. We have been very happy with the results of zoning each room in the house to improve comfort.

The Flair Puck is a solid device that seems to handle its tasks well. It is a little difficult to navigate and setup, and took a few attempts to get working properly. The E-Ink display is nice, but makes it difficult to recognize when the device has lost power which can confuse technically-challenged users. Altogether, a good device for controlling the system and setting the temperature in individual rooms, but probably not worth it as an individual room sensor.

Purchased Mitshubishi Mini Splits for a cabin in northern MN. Because we live in IL, we needed to have thermostats controllable on our phones. Our installer put in a Honeywell product that never worked. After 1 year of going back and forth, we decided to do our own research. My wife found the Flair Pucks and we couldn't be happier! My wife installed and synced up both mini splits to the Puck thermostats in less than 30 minutes and they work perfectly. Thanks, we are relieved we don't have to go through another winter with no control over the heat.

The pucks are extremely easy to configure and install. The only challenge is the user interface is very sensitive when turning the dial, and due to the size of the puck, the screen size is also correspondingly small. This is made up for by using the application on your phone to set the heat as needed. The only additional feature consideration would have been back-lighting, however, this would have diminished battery life and again is mitigated by the application. If you have a small number of rooms out of your home that are effectively always cold then you need to read more about the averaging calculation and consider contacting support through email to have the comfort plus setting. Or alternatively set your main thermostat using its schedule and then just use the smart vents to decide which room should continue to get heat, the challenge with this is that if the main thermostat is not located in the coldest room you will need to either move it or set it artificially high to accommodate for the fact that the room it is located in may get too warm.

Fantastic once you figure out all the different settings in the app and it’s easy setup. Our bedroom stays hotter while the rest of the house stays cooler in the warmer months and this has really improved the temperature between rooms. I intend on purchasing more pucks and smart vents for the rest of the house.
