“These vents are terrific. They are very well built, mostly metal, and not flimsy at that (the vent for the frame is not sheet metal but thicker and very sturdy). I have every vent in my home replaced (10 vents) but I am not controlling them through the Flair ecosystem. I have them all set to manual - I control and manage them all from within home assistant, specifically controlling the opening or closing of each one to only be open when someone is in the room and the heat or air is blowing, being sure to leave specific vents open at certain times in specific unoccupied rooms only when they need to be open to keep the vent pressures within the parameters specified by my furnace manufacturer. The vents could open more quickly when a command is sent to open one, it takes about 30-45 seconds for a vent to open or close after the command is sent. This is because it is all cloud based. Flair says that if internet connectivity is lost, all the vents will open automatically, but that is not a satisfactory outcome. There have been many calls to Flair to allow the control to be local only and they say they m,ay go in that direction eventually - but no promises. If there was another manufacturer that this level of quality for the vents with local control I would have used them but these are the only game in town.”

“Extraordinary. I'm a gadget guy. Always seeking to solve problems in the house in better ways. The upstairs in my house has always been a problem with unbalanced room temps. Literally three weeks ago the HVAC guys were going to install a manual solution on my air unit. It would have been a hassle. Now I have flair and problems solved! Tech support has been excellent. This is the solution you've been hoping for. Works with ecobee. Brilliant.”
