“Flying a glider requires good coordination between stick and rudder – something I still haven’t managed to achieve in real flight. I needed to be able to practice on the sim with proper pedals rather than using the twist motion on the joystick. After much research, these are the closest to the real thing without spending a fortune. Although not as stiff as real glider pedals, they do work very well and enable me to practice hand and foot coordination. Hopefully I will now be able to instil into my brain what my instructor keeps yelling from the back – “stick and rudder, stick and rudder”. Sadly my Saitek AV8R-01 joystick has failed after very little use – very jittery x and y axis making it impossible to control the aircraft. Now looking for a replacement and the CH Flightstick Pro might fit the bill.”
