I purchased these for my 4 1/2 year old son who is a Montessori student and he loved them once he understood how to work with them. We sat with him and colored pictures with him so he could experience how they worked. There is no difficulty in using them, it is just a new experience. It is great how much is assists the young child in the process of using those pincer fingers and further developing their small motor skills. We will take these over crayons any time and the soft pouch they come in is very nice to keep them together.

I like the idea that it uses different muscles in the fingers and hands

My 2 year old has fun coloring with these. I like the way we can fit all the crayons in a small container for travel and they don't roll off the table. The only down side is that some of the colors are very pale in color on white paper and this is a bummer because one of the ones is pink, my dd favorite color.

My 18 month old grandaughter loved these for Christmas, she especially liked taking them out and putting them back in the bag, and we practiced saying the colors. Coloring with them was a good high chair activity, but we had to watch she didn't chew on them!

These are great, especially for those children with difficulties with pencil grasps they are attractively presented in a pretty red bag that looks like it has treasure inside, the colors are pretty and the kids really benefit from having to use the proper grasp necessary to hold them.

The picture makes the crayons look like shiny rocks. A new twist on crayons but the "rocks" actually look like dull crayon in a rock glob. The base of the crayon is visible after being poured in the mold.

I bought these for my daughter last year and again recently for her younger cousin. I think these rocks are great for developing that pincer (writing) grip, and they are "green" too. You can't miss with this product.
