“I am so glad to have found these again! There are 2 kinds of these placemats--the US states and the world. We buy both. The front side has a colored map, with the state borders and also major rivers and bodies of water named. The back side omits the names, but gives the borders and rivers unnamed. So while my kids eat, I ask them to find particular states or rivers. Then when they think they are ready, we have them turn the map over and we test them on the blank side. You can use dry-erase pens on them, too. So we get a little learning in at dinnertime! They are pretty sturdy. After a few years, they will start coming apart, but that is to be expected.”
