Read For Small Hands Reviews

Children of all ages will intuitively recognize the beauty of these miniature works of art. Wood workers in Wamunyu, Kenya, a town known throughout Africa for fine wood work, carve and paint these animals by hand. The smooth wood is a pleasure for small hands to hold. Use for matching and naming games. The set includes two each of six recognizable African animals (12 pieces in all). Sizes vary from 2"" to 3"". Selections may vary from those shown. Please note: Because they are hand-carved, some pieces may not stand up. If standing is important, such as for a diorama, an adult may sand feet flat. Please expect slight variations in carving and paint, as with any handmade item.

I gave this to my daughter as a Christmas gift. The animals were a little smaller than I expected, but lovely. One of the antelope pair was broken when I received it, but I didn't have time to exchange it, so I would recommend being careful with them. She loves them. We love purchasing handmade items, so they are special regardless of the broken one.
