Swiss Vegetable Peeler - White Kuhn Rikon Peeler Reviews

4.3 Rating 16 Reviews
Read For Small Hands Reviews

Featuring an easy-grip handle and a carbon-steel blade, this peeper is very easy to use. Suited for right- or left-handed use. Includes a potato-eye remover on the side. Hand wash. 4¼ long. Ages 5+, with adult supervision. Also available in Green (D425) or Orange (D424). A note from the manufacturer: Our Swiss Peelers have a carbon steel blade – these are not stainless steel. It is always recommended that these particular peelers be towel dried immediately after use and washing to avoid rust build-up. Cooks and chefs prefer the carbon steel blades over stainless due to the fact that they stay sharp for longer periods of time. You can clean the rust off the blade by taking a sponge that has an abrasive side to it. This will clean the rust but won't damage the blade. The blade is not defective – the care and use is just different from that of stainless steel.

Having small hands makes some kitchen tools difficult to operate. I bought the peeler for use in the kitchen for myself and it helped me peel potatoes and carrots for stew. I am very happy to report that it is a huge success with me. Next purchase for my kitchen? Your potatoe masher.

This has become the sought after peeler. My dd of 2 loves to cook and I was pleasantly surprised with how well she could use this peeler. She still needs some help but for easy to peel veggies like cukes she can manage mostly alone with supervision. I like it a lot for my own use as well and will search for this one rather than use the other one we have.

I would hand wash. The blade rusted up real bad. Great price and gives my little one a chance to help at dinner

Love the size of this tool, fits in our 4 year old daughter's hands perfectly, however, keep in mind it is a real tool, therefore, it is sharp. As the descriptions states, "with adult supervision". Our daughter was ready to use this tool, but it still made me slightly nervous watching her use it, so I would recommend that your child is capable of handling this tool. A great learning tool!

Love these peelers. Both my kids (ages 3 & 5) use them with no problem. We use them too! Highly recommend them for use for all ages.

A great peeler, works for right handed or left handed. Peels easily and is safe. My two year old son loves to peel the carrots and parsnips for pot roast. Be sure to hand wash and dry after use. Ours is rusting after several uses because I put in dishwasher and did not dry. However, it still works great!
