We have only used this for cherries so far but my little ones love it! They can easily press the button to pit the cherries.

My granddaughters (3y and 6y) loved this cherry pitter. We have a big one, but it is not designed for little hands. This one they can use themselves. After picking 3 quarts at the farm they had a blast de-pitting over the next few days. I'd like to say there was cherry pie, but they ate them as fast as they pitted them. This was quick, operable for the girls and safe. I will be ordering another!

The base isn't a container, it just gives it room to drop the pit. Would be better if it was a container that the pit was pushed into - use it over a paper towel or something else. The pit wasn't always fully cut from the cherry however it was always pushed out so the removal could easily be done by hand.

This works great with pitted cherries but does not work at all with pitted olives - we tried green olives and kalamata olives. Big bummer for my 4 year old.

My toddler loves cherries so this is a great gadget for him to use to get cherry stones out independently. Easy to use and clean, perfect for small hands :-)
