We bought this for our 3 year old that loves to do the stirring when we cook. Normally she makes a mess when stirring as she splatters the batters etc all over the place. This hand mixer is easy for her to use and keeps her from splattering the food everywhere. She also loves that the beaters are able to be removed for her to lick.

Not sure if I missed this in the description, but this mixer is not really suited to small hands. I purchased this as part of a group of kitchen supplies for my budding chef (almost 3). I expected this to be similar in size and utility to the spatula and mixing bowl I purchased. It is not. It's a very good mixer, but not for children's work unless they are older -- 8+ I'd say. We will still use it in our house, but the intended recipient will need help.

Purchased this for my almost-5 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves to help in the kitchen, but needs tools that don't overwhelm her. She LOVES this mixer. She mixed up fluffy eggs for omelets yesterday and had so much fun that her 10 year old brother asked to borrow the mixer to make his own! Cleanup is also very easy. The beater head part detaches from the base with the handle. We hand washed this piece and it was quite easy to clean up.

I gave this to my granddaughter for her birthday and she has helped her mother make several things. She is 3 years old and her mother says she does well with it . The protective case is marvelous. Her mother said she has even used it herself with great results.
