My 6 year old granddaughter is very skilled with this top and likes it a lot.

This top is loads if fun. It is just complicated enough for a 5 year old to figure out how to thread and wind the string without getting bored. My 3 year old needs a bit of help. The top even works on carpet. I gave only 3 stars because several holes in the top were poorly sanded and rough, thus snagging the string. After the just a few spins, the string was ragged and the plastc aglet at the end of the string that eases threading was broken. Small Hands had excellent service and sent a replacement, but the second top had the same issues. Pehaps my dremel can smooth it out.

It was a gift for 2 and 4 year old grandsons. They arrived in CA after a long flight from NY, tired and overwhelmed with family members. I handed them the top all wrapped up and within minutes my son, their father, had the top spinning and the kids entranced and laughing. Beautifully made and easy to operate.

My child enjoys this but has not yet figured out how to rethread it on his own. He's almost 4. It's pretty simple to thread but it did take me a couple tries also as it came with no instructions.

Bought these for our grandchildren's stockings. They loved them (as did their parents.) I actually let them get them out while we were preparing dinner - it was a wonderful activity, delighting all while the last minute dinner preparations were being completed. Top spins on all kinds of surfaces. Love it!

This a great, sturdy toy. My 5yo is challenged by it, but interested enough to keep trying it. Even adults have enjoyed playing with it.
