Although this is rated for older kids, I bought it for my 5yo's birthday. He LOVES it. The wire clips were a bit too difficult for him to manipulate, so his dad slid the protective covers off and now he can do it by himself just fine. The metal connections are a bit delicate, but have withstood my 5yo fine so far. He is able to make all of the different circuits in the book after a tiny bit of help to understand the less obvious components. He has learned a lot about electricity and magnetism.

I wasn't there to watch the unwrapping Christmas day. This was my granddaughter's first gift to unwrap & she was so captivated by it she didn't unwrap any other gifts for half the day!

I gave this to my six-year-old grandson for Christmas. It was his favorite present of all.

My 7 year old daughter asked for this kit, because she was studying electricity at school. She has enjoyed building fans, lights, and alarms on her own and with her friends. She even finds ways for her little brother to help her build.

My 9 year old grandson got this at Christmas. The next day, his Mother said she would help him with it in a few minutes. Well, in a few minutes he brought in his first project. He read the directions and accomplished it on his own. From there he kept doing more and it has been a super success. We have been very pleased.

My 8 year old son played for about 4 hours straight when he first got it. When we have company, he shows his experiments to anyone that will listen. This is a great learning tool - and your child will think its just play time.

My eight year old grandson loved this kit. It is just right for his age and is sturdy and easy to use. Most instructions and diagrams are easy for him to figure out. Some adult help for the more difficult experiments.
