I put milk in this pitcher and then let my daughter, who is almost three years old, pour the milk onto her cereal unassisted. (I don't fill it up all the way, of course!) I also use this to put water or juice in so that she can serve herself while we are having a family meal, and sometimes for pancake syrup. My daughter's Montessori school also uses this pitcher for mealtimes. The lid helps prevent spills and dribbles, and the chunky, sturdy nature of the glass stands up to toddler use. This gives my daughter a sense of independence and is good for her fine motor skills. I like it so much that I gave one as a Christmas gift this year to another almost-three year old. I tried using this pitcher with my daughter when she was 2 1/2, and it was a bit much for her to handle. A couple of months later, and she was able to use it successfully.

We love to ask the children to get drinks for everyone as their contribution to the breakfast table. It really helps a child feel as though their efforts are a necessary part of family life. This pitcher is a great size and lightweight.

My son uses one of these at school and its great to have it at home. we were letting him use our large Brita pitcher, but it gets so heavy when its full...this is a perfect solution! He loves doing it and loves that its just like at school!

My 3.5 year old daughter has been asking for a way to get her own drinks for ages and this pitcher is just right. We are keeping it near the bottom of the fridge filled with water and she gets it out and pours herself a drink easily, without any assistance. Perfect for her and great quality.

I got this for my little guy so he could be a little more independant. He loves that he has his own juice pitcher and can help himself. It is the perfect size for him, he is four. Made well, very sturdy.

We bought these for our preschool. Our 4 and 5 year olds can use them great. Some of our 3's can but they are to heavy for our 2's. Wish they were a lighter plastic. They are the perfect size for preschool. If anyone knows where to get plastic ones please let me know.
