I have used these books for years with children in my school and now am using them with my grandchild. For little ones, start with a whole hand approach until they begin to differentiate and use the "pointer" finger for the trace of the letters. Minimize verbal instructions for formation by placing a sticker star at the point where one begins to trace the letter formation. Always say the sound of the letter, as we read sounds, not letter names. Enjoy. Your little ones will make this one of their favorite books.

This is a great set, especially the red letter book. Only 2 small issues. First is that the pictures sometimes show things with the sound at the beginning and other times at the end or in the middle, and it isn't consistent from page to page. Also the font isn't what is used in most Montessori classrooms. This isn't much of an issue except the number '9' is styled as if from a keyboard like an upside down '6' instead of the more typical upright one more like an upside down 'd' or a 'q' moved up onto the line.

I read these to my 6 month old and she loves to feel the flocking. I think these will be very handy when she learns to read and write.

We use this product as part of our bedtime routine. I think my son likes it more at that time because it allows him to stay up a bit later. The letters soft and coordinate with pictures on the page so you not only can study and trace the letter, but the sound the letter makes in the word. The biggest drawback to this book is the binding. It's pretty flimsy. I'd like to see them print the cards on a heavier stock and store them in a box without any binding at all. Still, this is a good book, but it may not last as long as you'd like. It may be worth it just to order your own set of sandpaper letters.

These are the books I remember from school! My daughter immediately went through them and touched every page. We have yet to read them together but she loves to explore them on her own.

I bought the red letter, blue number books for my granddaughter who goes to a Montessori preschool. She has made remarkable progress in learning her letters and numbers since she started preschool this fall so thought it would be a good thing to use at home too. The other things I bought are for a trip to her other grandmas house for the holidays.I am sure she will love them all and they will make the trip easier for her and her mom and dad. I love your products and I am sure I will buy more. Thank you!
