See inside and watch music in the making—music boxes are a fascination at any age. Holding the knob and turning the crank helps children develop the pincer grip, and refines small motor movement. The clear acrylic case covers all the moving parts of the instrument, except the handle. We've seen many variations on this design, and this is our favorite. 3¼"" x 2"" 1¼"" high. Base colors may vary. Please note: These are not ""wind-up"" music boxes which are wound and then listened to. The music only plays when the handle of the music box is turned. The music tempo will vary with the speed of which the handle is cranked. We have seasonal tunes available here.

I bought this for my son's third birthday...the "Happy Birthday" tune. The interior is so shiny and striking, the sound is clear and my son can operate it easily. He loves it. Put it on a large surface like a tabletop (cleared of other objects) and hear the sound amplified as you turn the crank!

we bought the twinkle, twinkle little star music box for my daughter who was nearly 3 at holiday time. she loved the music box but dropped it. the crank popped out of the gears and i figured i would take it apart and put it back together. but it doesn't come apart. after some fiddling with it and using a tiny eyeglass screwdriver that i wedged in the small opening we got it back together. but any small movement aside from playing it pops the crank out of the gears and we have to fix it again.

All four of my grandchilden absolutely love their music boxes. The clear acrylic case lets children see how the music is made, and they love turning the crank themselves. The tunes are sentimental favorites of mine, their parents, and the children.

We got this for our grandson, some concern about it breaking if turned backwards. Very nice and we ourselves found it very relaxing to turn, watch and listen to. The turn knob is small enough that the pincer grip will be used and presumably strengthened as stated.

My son LOVES musical instruments. This not only plays music at a very comfortable level, but it's fun to see the moving parts as you crank!

I will be giving this to my 2 yr old son after his heart surgery. I know he will love it. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is his favorite and he loves watching the way things work, especially spinning objects such as cranks and gears. Although it is a little smaller than I was expecting the size is convenient for the many overnight trips we make.

This past Christmas 2010, we had quite a few toddlers to give gifts to. Originally I was only thinking of my son for this item. Then eventually, as we list more toddlers down, it seemed that we were going to really budget our finances tighter. So giving this gift to 2 years old and older was the best deal for its price. And most of all when they opened of up the gift their face lighten up, even the parents loved it. It's very classic. I definitely would order it again to give as gifts. I hope more different music will come out soon for collection purposes.
