This whistle is a little difficult for a toddler to use because one has to position his/her mouth carefully. But it is an adorable wooden toy and sounds like an owl.

This small hand held wooden owl is perfect for my 3 yr old grandson. He picked it up after unwrapping at Xmas and figured out how to make the hooting sound and I delighted in it's simplicity. Small but mighty gift, he will love it forever.

The craftsmanship is really impressive, and the tone from the whistle sounds just like a barred owl. This is one of those items that I can see being passed down through generations.

I expected it to sound like an owl to use in our nocturnal unit, but it sounded more like an ordinary whistle. We were all disappointed.

It makes a very cute hoot and we love to use it in combination with other animal noise making toys such as the frog one.

My first owl did not hoot. With a phone call it was quickly replaced with a working owl and we're very happy. My grandsons will have fun trying to find the right way to blow into it to hear the loud hoot.
