This full-length, narrated orchestral piece is performed expertly by the London Philharmonic.Extra tracks include a biography of Prokofiev and highlight Russian folk instruments. Comes with a 24-page booklet. Parents' Choice and Dr. Toy Awards. 68 minutes.

I ordered this for my 5 and 7-year-old grandchildren as I remembered hearing it in my youth. My 5-year-old in particular was captivated by the narrative and quickly picked out the different instruments representing the characters in the story. Hopefully this will inspire him to love and appreciate good music. A good buy!

A perfect way to connect the concrete world young children experience every day with the wonderful realm of quality music. Pete and the Wolf creates a bridge between the two and can awaken a new sensory awareness for kids.

A Christmas gift for a five year old named Peter: I know that he likes Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf since I have an old record that he often asks to have played. Now he will be able to play it at home as well on the CD player. I have not opened it nor played it but it looks to be a quality product judging by the design and packaging. I read that it comes with a book and was somewhat disappointed to see that the book is the same size as the CD case. I was expecting a full size picture book. But the price was reasonable so I am not complaining. I trust this company and their mission. I have ordered before and this is the first hint of disappointment.
