Read For Small Hands Reviews

Whistles offer a classic introduction to the concept of manipulating airflow to change sound. Children move the slide in and out to produce the signature sliding ""whoop"" they love. We're pleased to report that the mellow tone of this solid wood slide whistle is decidedly more appealing than metal or plastic versions. 7½"" closed, opens to 11""; 1"" dia. Style may vary. Ages 3+.

My grandson (2) hasn't mastered this yet like his kazoo horn but he's intrigued by the moving part. It's a winner!

I recently put together Air Bag activity collections for my grandchildren. The bags include the book, Air Is All Around, and some other appropriate materials, among them, the Child's Wooden Slide Whistle. The Air Bags are a hit. The whistles are driving the parents slightly nuts to the delight of their children; and my three year old grandchildren are beginning to understand what air is and some things they can do with it.

I bought each grandchild a Child's Wooden Slide Whistle as part of their Christmas presents. Each was excited to see their very own whistle. Little or no instruction was needed to begin the fun.

My grandchildren LOVE these. Even the 16month old got the hang of it in just a short time. Also nice is the sound that the whistle makes doesn't hurt the ears.

Got these as party favors for my one-year-old's birthday and she enjoyed them as much as the big kids. Very easy for little ones to use. Nice sound (not grating or irritating) and the slide adds a dimension to the sound that holds kids' interest. Well made - simple and pretty!

This is perfect for young children. The slide whistle is easy to use, & unlike others, they can't break the stick. Solid wood, beautiful.
