Read For Small Hands Reviews

Whistles offer a classic introduction to the concept of manipulating airflow to change sound. Children move the slide in and out to produce the signature sliding ""whoop"" they love. We're pleased to report that the mellow tone of this solid wood slide whistle is decidedly more appealing than metal or plastic versions. 7½"" closed, opens to 11""; 1"" dia. Style may vary. Ages 3+.

This is perfect for young children. The slide whistle is easy to use, & unlike others, they can't break the stick. Solid wood, beautiful.

We ordered these before Christmas for stocking stuffers, [...] used them in Easter baskets instead. Huge hit with both kids (age 5 & 2), I was thankful I could send them outdoors to play after awhile though. It is a great addition to our music basket and I like they are wooden not plastic.

My son (3) was enthralled with a slide whistle he saw at a local museum and so we got him this for Christmas. As with many wind instruments, it can be difficult to get a good tone if you're not holding your mouth and and controlling your breath just so. He pinched himself last week on between the bottom of the whistle and the "slide" rod. Overall, I'm still pleased with the design and the tone. It is probably more appropriate for 4 year olds. I certainly enjoy it more than plastic or metal ones of heard.
