I gave these as a gift to two sisters (age 3 and 2) and they loved them. Being able to string things on a string is a screening skills for kindergarten and their mother was so please to see that they were able to perform this skill and they were really having fun!

Be careful of the small parts but this is a perfect toy to teach motor skills, colors and just creativity. It's different every time, too, which is nice.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas right before she turned two. She's now a little more than two and a half, and she loves the beads and laces. Last night she took the bucket down all on her own and spent a good thirty minutes "making her necklace." She didn't want to tear herself away to go outside and play on her swingset - THAT was a first. When she was finished, she carefully wrapped her necklace into the top of the bucket "to finish it tomorrow." The laces are firm enough for little hands to "string" and the beads are just the right size and shape... I think the wooden beads feel more durable and better in their hands to hold onto and string. I can see her using these for a long time.
