I bought this for my 5yo's birthday, he is learning some early math concepts and beginner addition and subtraction at school. This game is nice because it can grow with him, he can play in more complex ways as his skills grow. At the moment, it's not his preferred game because it's a bit challenging, but I think he will play it more and more as he grows. Well made. Sturdy and attractive.

5 year old great grandson ""loved"" rolling the dice and counting. I enjoyed playing it also - we had a good time.

This was a gift to my daughter, a new kindergarten teacher, for her classroom. Good gift to teach children how to recognize numbers and do math skills.

This game is so much fun. My daughter is 8 years old and it's GREAT for her to practice math fluency. She loves playing it by herself or with a friend. My 4 year old loves to roll the dice and just match the numbers to the dice... great practice for one-to-one correspondence. I keep this on my tutoring table at work and I play it with kids from kindergarten to middle school to pass the last few minutes of a session. They ALWAYS look forward to this as a way to decompress. I also did a review on my education blog, The Indigo Teacher: http://theindigoteacher.com/shut-the-box-the-funnest-addition-fluency-game-youll-ever-play/

Good game for younger kids practicing their basic math skills. Box says 6+ for age. My daughter is 8 and this got boring real fast. Thought it might be nice for continuous addition and subtraction practice, but she looses interest too quickly.

I bought this game for my grandchildren age 11 and 5. They both really enjoy the game although the 5 yo needs help some as just getting into addition. The game is small enough and compact enough that would make a fun road trip game.
