A Handful of Quiet Happiness in Four Pebbles Reviews

3 Rating 1 Reviews
Read For Small Hands Reviews

What a lovely gift for the children in our lives. Zen master and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Thich Nhat Hanh has created a very simple meditation for children. Being able to hold a pebble and think about what it might stand for gives young, energetic children a way to quiet their bodies as they learn to quiet their minds. This book, along with some beautiful stones (not included), would be a lovely addition to a peace corner. Some of the pages can be cut out and made into cards. Includes easy-to-understand instructions, further resources, an activity, and a song with score. Spiral-bound hardcover, 62 pages. Ages 4+.

This book was not what I expected. Certainly a young child can not read it and an adult needs to explain the entire premise. Still - I think once the idea is explained... I will be interested to see how my 6 year old granddaughter reacts to it over time. I love the concept, just the format left me bewildered.
