I bought this book, along with the small metal garden tools, for my granddaughter who is only 2 years old but loves to help her dad in the garden. I expect she'll be finding worms in the soil and, although the text is too advanced for her now, the pictures are big and bright and will help her understand where worms live and work.

Her parents have a worm composter, and she's seen earthworms on the front walkway of her new house after a rain, so I purchased this book for my 19 month-old granddaughter. We all read it on Christmas morning, and we learned much. She and her family will read it many times in the days to come, and she will have a firm understanding of the work of earthworms! It's a great book!

The book kept the attention of a two year old right to the end. The fact that worms have both genders is mentioned and may be a caution for some people.
