My five year old loves handicrafts and working on a longer term project that she can easily set down and then pick up where she left off with minimal set up.

My 5-year-old grandson saw me knitting and asked me to teach him. Thinking he might be frustrated with knitting, I started him on the loom as a way to get him to use his hands. It was a big hit. He enjoyed the weaving and was not frustrated at all! From weaving, we'll move on to other needle work.

I love the loom and my 5 year old son was interested in weaving the day he got it. I have no experience weaving and was disappointed that the instructions are not adequate. Warping was ok and so too the basic weaving. However, how the weaver closes the stitch when the yarn runs out after three rows of weaving is absolutely not clear. In fact, the loom is sitting until I can find someone to help me. For me, that's a big problem. The company really needs to provide more detailed instruction for the true beginner. This is the reason I gave the product only three stars.
