Read For Small Hands Reviews

Ideal for beginner's, this keyhole saw comes with two blades: use small teeth for small wood and big teeth for big wood.Start children sawing foam core (from framing or art supply stores) using the Fine-Toothed (metal-cutting) Blade; with 24 teeth/inch. Then give the children small sticks, dowels, and branches to cut. For control and safety, always use a Bench Vise (V525) to hold the wood so children can keep both hands on the saw handle, away from the blade.Move on to sawing bigger pieces for practice and projects using the Coarse-Toothed (wood-cutting) Blade; 10 teeth/inch. Handle is 4"" blades are 6"". Be sure to provide a brush and dustpan so children can sweep up the sawdust when they're finished. Please note: The Fine-Toothed Blade is actually a metal-cutting blade; it is recommended by teachers and in our woodworking books for children's first experiences learning to saw wood because it will not jam. Ages 5+ with adult supervision.Order an additional Fine-Tooth Blade V510A or Coarse-Tooth Blade V510B here.

This tool works great, and my son helped trim the small branches on a garden tree!

While it is a functioning keyhole saw, it works best on sheetrock not wood. The teeth are too large or something. And while the handle is small, it would in no way be usable by a child. I find it difficult myself. Finer teeth are needed on a "small hands" saw.

All my six year old wanted for Christmas was a saw and he is so pleased with this one. He uses it to saw off small limbs from the "junk trees" on our property for fun. Haven't used it for any woodworking projects yet, but I'm sure it will do just fine.

Bought this saw for my 7 year old granddaughter. She used it right away to cut windows & doors in a big cardboard box so she & her best friend could play house. Very easy for her to use. Fitted her hands well.

My two boys use this for cutting smaller dowels and other smaller wood. The size fits well in their hands. We bought one to see how much it would get used and had to come back and buy another so they each had one, they used it so much.
