This sewing book is great for little kids like my nearly-5-yr-old granddaughter, but it could be even better if there were a kit that you could buy with it. The kit would contain the sewing supplies suggested in the book and needed for all the projects in it - kids' scissors, needles, thread, needle threader, etc. Even the craft stores near me don't have such a kit, so now I've got to go to a faraway sewing store. The book itself is great, though.

I love this book! It is easy to read because it is clearly divided into chapters which explained the level of sewing necessary and the materials that the child will need. I am an art teacher and will be using this book as an inspiration to teach all the Kindergarteners, First and Second Graders how to sew and what to sew. My five year-old daughter and I already sewed a project from the book. I highly recommended.

I bought this book to teach my granddaughters to sew (and if I had a grandson, he would learn too!) and found its instructions very well done: clear, step-by-step, progressing from simple to more complex tasks. The authors have taught groups of children to sew as part of a summer program, which makes their methodology battle-tested! I appreciated the detailed information for basic equipment to stock a sewing box; the recommended use of big needles, a needle threader and thick thread was spot on advice for beginning sewers and little fingers. The projects range from the very simple to relatively complex, and patterns are included too. All in all it is a wonderful resource.

I ordered this book for 2 of my granddaughters. I thought the sewing instructions were very good. In fact my daughter ordered one for herself as she thought maybe it would help her learn how to sew also. I would definitely recommend this.

My 8 year granddaughter started on her projects right away. Her sister who is 6 wanted and did join in on the mouse project too. Thank you for this avenue to share time and talents with grandchildren! Tina
