Originally got this to keep my 26 month old son busy at restaurants. It’s been super effective! It’s solid wood (so durable), and well-made.

My 3 yr old grandson loved this! Has a chunky wooden screwdriver that is stored in block and can use that or fingers to loosen and tighten wooden bolts. Quite sturdy!

My granddaughter likes it at age 2 1/2 but I think she is actually a little old for it.

My two year old grandson watches his mom and dad build and repair objects around the house. This toy gives him opportunities to use tools, practice and improve fine motor skills and actively participate in typical family activities.

The Bolt Block is a win in our family because of the range of skills (and therefore ages) that it's appropriate for. Basic dexterity with the bolts, advanced dexterity with the screwdriver, color matching, and eventually color identifying. This means that when the 3 year old neighbor kid comes over she's just as happy to play with it as our 20 month old. The product is also well-made, no frayed edges of wood waiting to stick you with slivers, and it's held up well with use. The chunky bolts also mean that if a Little Sibling ever comes along I'll be less concerned about a choking hazard than with some other big kid toys. Sidenote: It's also been a great distraction for my daughter who likes to work with it along side her Daddy while he does his projects around the house. Her little hands are occupied and out of the way, but she thinks she's helping. :)

This was a birthday gift for my 3-year-old grandson and he loved the Bolt Block! It didn't take him long to figure out how to make it work and he enjoys screwing and unscrewing the bolts. (His 5-year-old sister likes it, too).

My 19 month-old granddaughter likes to explore her dad's tools. Bolt was already a word in her vocabulary! The Bolt Block lets her turn the chunky wooden bolts with her fingers. She loves it!
