Since my grandson is now 8.5 months old he is not quite ready or interested in interacting with this toy. When I get it out I show him how the piece fit and match the colors to the other lovely wooden toys that I have from Small Hands.

My son has loads of fun with thus, especially spinning it and watching it wobble!

This really is a classic. I had this toy when I was a toddler and remember playing with it forever. There was something especially fascinating about that purple color on the smallest ring. I bought two of these this year for 1 year old grandchildren. I was surprised when I opened the package at how small the toy had become. I believe, but not certain, that it was at least a couple inches taller when I had it as a child. Regardless, both he and she loved their stackers. One even arranged the rings upside down for a different effect. A five year old on the scene used the stacker without rings as a microphone. So it has a multi purpose! They all loved it and had a great time playing. Will probably buy more in the future.

This was a gift to my 16 month old grandson. He has another stacking toy which he just dumps the rings off. When he open this he dumped the rings off but immediately put them back on. The rounded shape makes them easier to grasp and the slack between the ring and the post made them easier to slip on. The rocking was inconsequential.

I purchased this for my grandson who was 13 months old at the time. I liked the idea of all wood and safe paint and it is nicely made. However, he loves to throw things and the rings are heavy enough to make an impact. Even thoughthe recommended age was one and older he was able to put the smallest ring completely in his mouth. Although it couldn't be swallowed, it did get stuck and gave his mom quite a fright.! I'd suggest changing the recommended age to 3 and older.

Bought for my 18 month old grandson. He plays with it over and over. Well constructed, small and perfect for him.

My 10 month old loves this, and has for a couple of months now. We had another wooden one from a different company, but its rings were too big and heavy for tiny hands. This one my daughter can manage better so she can do more with it--mostly unloading, carrying rings around, banging them together, picking up, putting down, and even lifting, chewing and banging the stick part. Maybe sometime she'll move on to restacking... I also like that the colors are in correct rainbow order--our other one has the same six colors in a different order, which just feels unnatural to me. This one lets a child get used to seeing the natural color progression.

I was surprised at first to see the size of this material. It is smaller than any I have researched. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the size is perfect for my 14 month old. I love how the rocking feature enables the child's ability to easily stack each ring.
