The G80 offers both a great on-course GPS and lots of different ways of practicing. This includes a simple warm up (club head/ ball speed, tempo etc), specific tempo training, target practice to hone distance control (challenge a mate!), or a virtual round on any course you like in the Garmin 40000 database. For me, a hidden gem - you can link Tru-swing to this and see all the path/ loft data immediately. So, I can now practice longer on distance, control and switch to look at path in the same session (without smashing my phone battery). I deducted one star because it struggled to pick up all my practice shots with range balls, but otherwise I now have the tech for proper feedback and can plan better (and more fun!) practice to improve my game, especially through winter.

Have had a Garmin Approach G5 for years. Sadly the screen is just breaking down. Went for the G80 as a replacement. Only been able to use it twice on the course before this lockdown. Very happy with it, but not had chance to trial its full functions yet. Hence 4;stars. Can be used successfully for temporary greens. Happy buyer! Wish it came with a proper case though...

Bought this for my wife as her old Garmin (6 yrs old) failed. Initial impressions are good.
