“The Lifestyle Living Flame Portable Gas Heater arrived a couple of days after the order was placed. It was well packaged and a small amount of self assembly was required. Like all of these heaters, it seems to be front heavy and not that strong when there is no cylinder attached. However, it gets sturdy and its centre of gravity improves greatly once the cylinder is added. I had trouble getting the heater to ignite, and had to call Hamilton Gas Products. They first advised to vent some gas from the cylinder, as sometimes the pressure in the cylinder can cause the pilot flame to be blown out. Unfortunately purging some gas did not solve the problem. After calling back, I was advised to check for loose wires and/or connections. Sure enough, the wire that sends the spark to the gas had become loose in transit. I was put in contact with Gary at Lifestyle and he Whatsapp viseo called, and showed me exactly how to reconnect the wire. It was very good customer care, and I didn't mind doing a little to sort this out. The heater itself lit first time after the wire was connected and was very simple to operate. It is a nice addition to the room and compliments the decor with its design and fire effect. The flame itself is derived from a ceramic insert that heats and causes the effect, as it sits just above where the gas burns. I've had this heater going for a week now, and it heats up a room with a relatively high ceiling in half an hour. The flame effect is comforting on a Winter's night, but it isn't distracting when reading, etc. There's no flicker that you may get with a real flame fire. I'd highly recommend this product.”
