“I bought this Lifestyle 6kW Double Burner Cast Iron Gas Boiling Ring to use outside to cook food on a cast iron skillet. I like to get the skillet searing hot to quickly cook steak but this results in a lot of smoke which my wife finds unacceptable in the kitchen. It's also great when I'm in a hurry and can't be bothered to light the BBQ. I must admit to being unsure whether the output of this burner is 6, 9 or 9.2kw as there are several identical versions out there. What I can say however, is that mine has three taps and three rows of gas jets and it put out loads of heat, more than enough to cook steaks, stir frys and paellas. The unusual feature of this burner is the configuration of the gas jets. The central tap controls the central circular burner but the taps either side each control one half of the large burner ring. One thing to be aware of is to guard against gusts of wind as the gas jets are quite easy to blow out. Overall, it's well made and does the job I want it to do.”
