Wife and I loved the trip that exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it to anyone, solo or otherwise, looking for a non-touristy way to see and experience the quiet, lovely and super friendly backroads of Vietnam. Top highlights: Vietnamese and Cambodian people are simply among the nicest in the world, so you are in a wonderful country for travel. We were so off the tourist map that we encountered virtually no other tourists during tour until arriving in Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. Very easy riding, with or without ebikes, 95% on flat well maintained roads/paved paths, that weaved through small picturesque villages and fields. We skipped the afternoon optional rides to lounge on boat, but about half of guests took advantage of them. Guides are all exceptional, friendly and professional. The occassional excursions were actually fun and interesting. All the guests, mainly North American, were wonderful and everyone seemed genuinely pleased with the group and tour. The boat is low key rustic and the rooms cozy and adquate - not luxury, but for an active trip did just fine. The onboard massages were rated the all the guests as "best in the world" and at a quarter of North American prices. The crew, and their service, drinks, meals etc, were all excellent. Things to note: Very early morning starts, around 7 am on the bikes to beat the heat, so you're waking early every day. Wearing padded bike shorts and using an seat pad helps. The heat can be intense, so be psychologically prepared. The part of the Mekong we traveled is heavily used for tourist boat and commercial container traffic, and is not the exotic looking river often seen in travel brochures, but it's calm and entertaiing enough. Spending two nights in Ho Chi Minh city - taking scooter tours - before the tour was a good way to be introduced to the city and the country. We would love to visit Vietnam again and we would also use Grasshopper Adventures for other destinations for bike trips.

We really enjoyed this trip. The team and guides were without exception charming, helpful and informative. The detail in the planning & execution was great, they even filled our bike water bottles while we had breaks. The snacks at the breaks were fab, always local delicacies and lots of fresh fruit. Sitting on the boat terrace watching the sunset was beautiful. Our fellow travellers were all really nice people form all over the world. Great fun.

What a great trip! This is a really well designed tour giving you a variety of experiences as you journey from Saigon to Siem Reap. The combination of boat and bike is brilliant - you are off cycling through gorgeous countryside by day and then the boat and its wonderfully hospitable crew are waiting for you. No loading and unloading of suitcases - just get back on the boat, have a welcome shower and adjourn to the breezy top deck for pre-dinner drinks. The tour guide and the cycling guides were very Clearer COVID policyknowledgeable and helpful and ensured that everyone had the opportunity to have an amazing trip. The last couple of days in Siem Reap were also really special - gorgeous hotel and cycling around the Angkor Wat temple site was a great way to enjoy that amazing place. Highly recommend this tour to anyone up for a unique and wonderful adventure.

The Mekong Bike and Boat Adventure tour was exactly as advertised. The biking guides make a point of making the tour enjoyable for any level of biking expertise. We had various "oops", unrelated to biking, that came up for some of our group and the guides were especially helpful. Seeing the Vietnam countryside was a priviledge. And the food was great.

One if our best holidays. A good mix of cycling, seeing life in the delta, good food and good company (guests and hosts). The 3 cities provided a different experience in a region of great historical interest and a wonderfully comfortable hotel to finish. I’d recommend the Grasshopper experience.
